Greetings Walkers, Runners and Staff Carriers of the Longest Walk 4,
On Behalf of one of the oldest A.I.M. charters in the United States, which is 40 years old from Reno, Nevada, we welcome you and commend your efforts on this walk across Turtle Island. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you. We ask for blessing, guidance, understanding and protection for each one of you. Have clear days and open roads and always remember your prayers are just as strong as you stay together -- Strength in numbers. Don’t let your mind go weak, you’re representing your families, friends, your tribe and of course, yourself. Be proud of who you are and try not to break the circle. Take care of the sacred staffs and yourself and always remember this when your carrying something sacred. Every step is a prayer and every thought is a prayer and every prayer is a prayer.
Blessing be with you. “Brave Up!”

Blessings and gratitude to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism here in the Eisenhower State Park here in Kansas, and in particular to the Park Ranger, Ted Craig and Larry for providing the Longest Walk 4: Return to Alcatraz, two free nights stay, here in this beautiful land; where Larry welcomed the Walk upon arrival with a big pot of stew and cans of soda to quench our thirst, after we had finished the day walking and running 20
miles. The Walkers are humbled and grateful for your generosity.
Blessings and appreciation is extended to the Standing Cloud family for their support of the Longest Walk 4: Return to Alcatraz. When they spotted us walking and recognised the Walk van from our Facebook group site, that evening the walkers returned to camp after completing 31 miles, to a welcoming pot of chili deer meat stew. The Walk is grateful to the Standing Cloud family, who walked with us today, as we walk towards Emporia, Kansas.
From Long Walker Michael Lane
The Longest Walk 4: Return to Alcatraz will be walking through Wichita this Sunday, the 29th of September. We are also going to have a rally/info session midway, to support those resisting the tar sands and pipeline. Indigenous Sovereignty means among other things, standing up for our rsponsibilities to protect the earth, so such resistance is Indigenous Sovereignty in action. See you there.
(Sept 22) Day 69- At Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation for the last 3 days at their beautiful Veterans Memorial Pow Wow grounds. Thank you to Ed Green for the sweatlodge Ceremony and arranging our visit here, Tony for looking after us and the organizers of today's Pow Wow. Would also like to thank Jim The long time history teacher at Bishop Ward High School in west Kansas City for hostimg us and arranging for us to speak to the students.
