Dennis Banks: AIM for the Gulf

Dennis Banks, co-founder of the American Indian Movement in the late '60s, announced on Facebook and by private interview with this reporter that he would be going to the oil-ravaged Gulf soon. Banks said his AIM in the Gulf is to help The People from Louisiana to Florida, beginning again with the Houma.
Banks will head a group of Ten who will meet with Chief Brenda Dardar-Robichaux and stay there for awhile to jointly assess the disaster and its impact on The People and "then we will have a better idea how to proceed to help The People" all around the Gulf from Louisiana to Florida, Banks said. Banks and the as yet federally unrecognized Houma tribe have rendezvoused before:
