'End of the Line: Women of Standing Rock' Powerful Fim Inspires Global Movement

"Put your gun down, those are live rounds," says a Water Protector as police pull a gun on Standing Rock elder Phyllis Young.

In this powerful documentary, 'End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock,' Waste' Win Young and her mother Phyllis Young of Standing Rock narrate the journey from the water at Standing Rock, to Geneva, and home again.


Tonight during the panel discussion, recovering from COVID-19 on her birthday, Waste' points out that President Biden has the power to halt the Dakota Access Pipeline by executive order.

As the women of Standing Rock point out in the film, today Standing Rock is everywhere, and the movement to divest in fossil fuels and protect the water engulfs the world.

It was, and is, Waste' says, "a movement born of love," a movement where the people were invited to come and stand with the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota of Standing Rock -- and they did. The film, "End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock," is now in demand around the world.

Waste' recommends following Michelle Cook, Dine', for updates on the movement to divest. Cook organized divestment tours of Native women to Europe. Waste' was among those who carried the message of divestment and protection of the water to the United Nations and the world.

Investing in indigenous peoples cultural survival, traditional knowledge, and sustainable renewable energy as the basis for just transitions and the future. Invest in better and more just indigenous economic initiatives, paradigms, and structures; and PROTECT and advance indigenous peoples human rights regarding their lands, and territories."
