TORONTO -- Native women demanded that Canada intervene to ensure the safe return of Mskwassin Agnew, Cree Dene from Salt River First Nation, now imprisoned in the Ktzi'ot prison in Israel, along with the volunteers on the Freedom Flotilla and Thousand Madleens whose boats were violently raided by Israel forces on Wednesday.

"They were illegally intercepted, detained and kidnapped in international waters,"
said Dr. Kavita Algu, primary care physician, during a peaceful occupation of the office of a Member of Parliament, MP Karim Bardeesy, organized by Toronto World Beyond War.

"Nobody has heard from her. We don't know about the safety of our comrades on that boat. We do know they have been taken to an Israeli torture dungeon," Dr. Algu said.

"Everyone is incredibly concerned for them. They are being denied access to their lawyers and our state is refusing to act."

Dr. Algu shared quotes from Mskwassin, a harm reduction practitioner who sailed on the Conscience boat of health workers and journalists to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza.

Mskwassin said, “The state of Canada is an occupation, a settler colony that displaced our people from our traditional territories onto reserves."

"They uproot and destroy the land and water in the name of economic development and resource extraction."

"We live under the Indian Act, the blueprint for Israeli Apartheid."

Mskwassin was aboard the Conscience when she remained resolute as the Sumud Global Flotilla was under attack.

"We will not submit to Israel's barbarism."

Inside the MP's office, the Native women's delegation demanded Canada uphold international rights, and act to bring home the six Canadians aboard the Freedom Flotilla that are now imprisoned.

"Canada must respect the Genocide Convention."

"Canada must sanction Israel."

"Canada must implement the two way arms embargo."

"Canada must support flotillas and humanitarian corridors as required under international law."

"Canada must implement the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and support Indigenous self determination in Palestine, and here on Turtle Island."

Dr. Algu said, "We must honor the cause of Palestinians."

"We have to take to the streets and we have to keep escalating for Palestine until all of our comrades are free and until Palestine is free."

She ended with a quote by Mskwassin.

"In our joint liberation struggle as Indigenous Peoples, our survival hinges on the resistant spirit within us all."

"The Canadian government is funding a genocide."

Inside Israel's Torture Prison

Drop Site News reports the flotilla members report abuse during hearings. However, many have been denied lawyers.

"145 participants from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens missions to Gaza remain in Israeli detention, along with six Global Sumud Flotilla participants and one Nigerian activist from the Omar al-Mukhtar flotilla.

"Haifa-based rights group Adalah said Thursday its attorneys attended more than 50 tribunal hearings at Ktzi’ot Prison, reporting violent Israeli conduct during and after the flotilla seizures, poor conditions including lack of drinking water, and hearings held without legal counsel. More than 20 detainees have still not met lawyers.

Several parliamentarians have already been deported.

"Three Israeli citizens, including dual nationals, were charged with “infiltration into a military area” despite being seized 120 nautical miles from Gaza. They refused conditional release terms, including a six-month Gaza ban and a 4,000 NIS bond. Adalah called the charges legally baseless and said it will appeal."
