Thank you to Ian Zabarte, Western Shoshone, for recommending and sharing for COP21 Paris.
"Our Land, Our Life" presents the struggle of Carrie and Mary Dann, Western Shoshone elders, addressing the threat mining development poses to the sacred and environmentally sensitive lands of Crescent Valley, Nevada. The sisters battled the BLM in an effort to protect their horses and cows from US government seizure, and battled Barrick Gold destroying sacred land of the Western Shoshone. Mary passed in a ranch accident, but Carrie still lives in her homeland. (25 minutes)

I am embarrassed by the actions and inactions of my government.
The Danns correctly question the government's motives for removing their livestock (horses and cows) from the range under the pretext of rangeland degradation. Yet, the mining activities degrade the landscape with much more intensity and the mining will never repair the earth. Instead the American taxpayers will be stuck with the bill for the damage from mining activities.
My government once again has sold out to corporations.
