"What radio taught me is to be simple," says Tiokasin Ghosthorse, who shares how being a radio host was an experience of listening and understanding.

Tiokasin, Cheyenne River Lakota from South Dakota, is an activist, musician and served as a radio host for 33 years.

Tiokasin speaks of the rights and responsibilities of being a radio host, including listening to those that one does not agree with. Tiokasin focuses on the need for spirituality in the path of growth.

Liz Hill, Ojibwe, served as Tiokasin's producer at First Voices Radio.

"This was a beautiful conversation with Host Jennifer Robin of Red Hoop Talk and Tiokasin Ghosthorse. Loved the entire show! Highly recommended. So much sharing of stories and wisdom. Huge thanks to Association on American Indian Affairs for Red Hoop Talk and for giving us the opportunity to continue learning through Tiokasin and the many other wonderful guests that have been featured."
