TODAY! TUBA CITY: Walk to Shut Down Pinyon Plain Uranium Mine!

Come out Saturday and support the grassroots group Bidi Roots in Tuba City on the Navajo Nation

The Awareness Walk today, February 22, begins at 8 am, in the lot next to Denny's Restaurant, 2 Legacy Lane, Tuba City, Arizona 86045.

"From there we will walk Navajo Trail and take a right to Main Street, then arrive at the Tuba City Chapter House," Bidi Roots said.

"You may follow with your vehicles behind the walkers. Bring your banners and signs. Someone will be present to guide you to park. Watch for traffic 8-9:45 am Main Street. I'm excited to see all of you there! Dress warm everyone!"

"Join us for an Awareness Walk in Tuba City to learn about recent negotiations between Energy Fuels and the Navajo Nation Tribal Leadership, which have now permitted the previous illegal transport of uranium ore from Pinyon Plain Mine, near the Grand Canyon, to White Mesa Mill in Southeastern Utah."

The event is organized and hosted by local Tuba City group Bidi Roots with support from friends and family, Diné CARE, Haul No!, Anti-Uranium Mapping Project, and others, Haul NO! said.

Masks will be provided.
