Photos by Western Shoshone Long Walker Carl 'Bad Bear' Sampson. The final day of the five month walk to Alcatraz. On Saturday, Dec. 21, walkers arrive on Alcatraz. On Dec. 22, a Sovereignty Gathering will be held at the Inter-tribal Friendship House in Oakland.

Longest Walk in San Francisco
December 21- The Walk will start at 5:00 AM sharp from the Marin Vista Point of the Golden Gate Bride. From there it will make its way down to Chrissy Field, at Fort Mason it will go up to Bay Street and down Bay Street to Pier 33. The special ferry will leave at 8:20 AM sharp.

December 22- There will be a Gathering at the Intertribal Friendship House in Oakland, CA starting at 10:00AM. There will be a drafting of a Declaration reaffirming the 1978 The Longest Walk Manifesto and supplementing with a Reaffirmation of Indigenous Sovereignty. From 1:00 PM there will be a joint Celebration and Dinner for the Walk and for the Honoring of Bill Wahpepah.

LAWRENCE, Kansas -- The Longest Walk 4 Return to Alcatraz walked into Lawrence, Kansas, on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013
Photos by Carl 'Bad Bear' Sampson, thank you from Censored News! Bad Bear said today, "All the walkers left looking for other walkers to go all the way with us."
Bad Bear said at Haskell Indian University, "We circled up and said a prayer, then sang the AIM song. We have 26 miles to do each day until next Saturday, 170 miles to Wichita!"
