Catholic Church: 'Take the money and run'

An access to information request exposes Canada's secret deal that allows the Catholic Church to renege on its promise of $25 million for residential school survivors.

The day after the article was published in Winnipeg Free Press, the Pope announced that the Catholic Church is quickly moving all of its financial assets to the Vatican Bank.

The Catholic Church confessed to the crime of genocide in July.

During the Pope's tour, residential school survivors in Canada described the rapes, tortures, beatings and murders of children who were kidnapped from their families by the Church, acting on a mandate from the Canadian government.

The secret deal to renege was never made public

The access to information request reveals a secret 2015 deal between Stephen Harper’s Conservative government and Catholic leaders to “forever discharge” the church from its legal obligations to raise $25 million for residential school survivors, writes Niigaan Sinclair in Winnipeg Free Press.

"Obtained via an Access to Information request, the unpublicized deal allows the church to renege on its obligations under the 2005 Residential School Settlement Agreement," Sinclair writes.

The deal also pays for the church’s legal costs.

"At the time, Catholic leaders had raised only $4 million of the $25 million promised to residential school survivors," Sinclair said.

"Critics pointed to the fact that the church had raised $300 million for new buildings at the exact same time but its leaders were adamant, arguing that raising the remaining $21 million for survivors was too difficult."

Sinclair's article was published on Monday evening, August 22.

The next day, the Pope said the Catholic Church is moving all of its assets.

Pope moving its money quickly to Vatican Bank

The Vatican News reports that Pope Francis ordered that the Holy See and connected entities move all financial assets to the Institute for Works of Religion (IOR), commonly known as the Vatican bank.

The Pope's order was on August 23.

"According to Francis’ rescript, financial and liquid assets held in banks other than the IOR must be moved to the Vatican bank within 30 days of Sept. 1, 2022," Vatican News reports.

Based in Vatican City State, the bank has 110 employees and 14,519 clients. As of 2021, it looked after 5.2 billion euros ($5.6 billion) of client assets.

Catholic Church using children in fundraising scams, as search for graves is underway in the U.S.

This week Censored News reported that the Catholic Church is reaping millions from advertising and television scams in the United States.

These scams are carried out by Catholic schools with Native American children, including Lakota and Northern Cheyenne children who have been used in what is called "poverty porn" for church fundraising.

St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, is one of them. It used photos of Lakota children in a fundraising commercial on the Food Network this week.

Nick Estes, Lower Brule Lakota, described the beatings and rapes at the school. Young girls were impregnated by the priests. Estes said his uncle, a survivor, killed himself at the age of 23.

The search for unmarked graves continues.

This week, Red Cloud Indian School on Pine Ridge in South Dakota said it will remove concrete to search for two possible child victims of the school operated by the Catholic Church.

Before he passed to the Spirit World this year, Lakota newspaper publisher Tim Giago described the cruelty, beatings and rapes at the school.

"I will never forgive them for what they did to us," Giago said.

Cutting the Deal: Canada and Catholic Church's schemes and lies manufacture continuous Genocide

Brenda Dubois, who attended the Lebret residential school, is among leaders expressing their concerns. She said the findings are another example of officials brushing off the importance of reconciliation.

“It is another act of dismissal to us as humans,” Dubois told CTV News. “To be a part of a process and it’s really about our healing and their healing as well.”

“I am the one that has to reclaim my language, I am the one that has to reclaim my spirit and my culture,” Dubois said.

Demand for justice in the international court

The demand for Nuremberg-style trials continues for the crimes committed against children.

Comment from Paul V. Rafferty

We thank Pope Francis for what he called his “Penitential Pilgrimage” through parts of Canada and his admission of some of the Atrocities done to Native American Peoples! Now, we ask him to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!

In this article, we have learned that Pope Francis has ordered that all financial assets of the Church be moved to the Vatican Bank. We HOPE that this will enable the Roman Catholic Church to begin to act on the promise to pay $25 million to residential school survivors!!!

We also HOPE that Pope Francis will STOP the current financial SCAMS his Church is doing in the United States, as was also shown in this article!!

We can only HOPE that the Roman Catholic Church, other Churches, and the Canadian and U.S. Governments be held accountable, under International Law, for their parts in the Genocide of Native Americans! Hopefully, Pope Francis will lead the Way!!

Last but definitely not least, we HOPE that during his tenure as leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis will ABOLISH the Church’s “Doctrine of Discovery” which set the precedent for the extermination and enslavement of Indigenous Peoples throughout the world, during the medieval “Age of Discovery” and is still being cited in some States in the USA!
