The Dark World of the U.S. Funding Israel's Apartheid in Palestine

Palestine Action continues to shut down Elbit Systems factories of death, producing killer drones and weapons, in England. Elbit constructed the spy towers, integrated fixed towers, on the Tohono O'odham Nation, which now allows U.S. Border Patrol agents to stalk O'odham at home with live cameras.

A Congressional report details the flow of billions of U.S. dollars of military aid to Israel, the sale of fighter jets to Israel, and the production of weapons at Raytheon Missiles in Tucson for Israel. It includes a report on the investigation of the murder of reporter Shireen Abu Akleh.

TUCSON -- A congressional report details the billions of dollars that the U.S. gives Israel. The report of the flow of money and weapons from the U.S. to Israel includes Elbit Systems, which constructed the spy towers, located on the Tohono O'odham Nation, and the weapons defense system for Israel that is manufactured at Raytheon Missiles in Tucson.

With U.S. funding and weapons in July, Israel carried out the most devastating military offensive on the Jenin refuge camp in the West Bank in about 20 years.

"More than 1,000 Israeli soldiers stormed the overcrowded camp last week as rockets and drone missiles struck private homes and public infrastructure," reports Aljazeera.

The report by the Congressional Research Service shows the flow of weapons and cyber spy technology between Israel and the U.S. It reveals the sale of jet fighters from the U.S. to Israel. It describes the investigation into the murder of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh (a U.S. citizen.)

Israel's Elbit is also a weapons purchaser in the U.S.

"U.S. military aid also has helped Israel build its domestic defense industry, which now ranks as one of the top global arms exporters. 14 Israeli defense companies, such as Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rafael, and Elbit Systems, export nearly 70% of their products," states the Congressional report.

India, Azerbaijan, and Vietnam are Israel’s three largest export markets.

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

"Israel is the first international operator of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Department of Defense’s fifth-generation stealth aircraft, considered to be the most technologically advanced fighter jet ever made. To date, Israel has purchased 50 F-35s in three separate contracts, funded with U.S. assistance, and has taken delivery of 36."

The Congressional report doesn't include the fact that the U.S. trained Israeli pilots at Nellis Airforce Base in Nevada in March.

Meanwhile, in England, supporters of Palestine have been shutting down Elbit's factories of death, manufacturing killer drones and weapons, and the activists are going to court and jail to do it.

The United Nations was told Monday that Israel turns Palestinian territories into an outdoor prison.

"Israel has imprisoned more than 800,000 Palestinians in the occupied territory since 1967, including tens of thousands of children, and of the current 5,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons about 1,100 are being held without charge or trial, an expert has told the United Nations Human Rights Council.

"Currently, there are 160 Palestinian children among those being held in Israeli prisons, Francesca Albanese, UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, told the council on Monday, reports Aljazeera.

Indian Country Today, after its purchase by new owners, forbid me to report on the Raytheon Missile factory on the Navajo Nation. The Raytheon Missile factory is located on the same land as the Navajos' commercial farm, Navajo Agricultural Products Industry, where corn and other crops are grown for commercial sales. It was among the highly censored issues before I was terminated as a long-time staff reporter at Indian Country Today in 2006. As a result of the censorship, I created Censored News to reveal what was being censored in Indian country. -- Brenda Norrell
