Energy Fuels operates uranium mines near Moab in La Sal, and also operates the Pinyon Plain mine near the Grand Canyon. They also operate the uranium mill next to the White Mesa Ute Community in San Juan County which is turning into an international radioactive dump.
Please join us to support the White Mesa Ute Community, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Navajo/Dine community groups, and the Havasupai Tribe who are working together to stop more uranium mining and transportation and dumping of radioactive materials at the Energy Fuels mill/dump next to White Mesa.

Where: Intersection of Highway 191 and 46; 20 miles
south of Moab.
Why: The White Mesa Ute Community, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Navajo/DinĂ© community groups, and Havasupai Tribe are concerned about pollution from Energy Fuels’ uranium mines in La Sal, Utah and near the Grand Canyon; transportation of uranium ore through Tribal and non-Tribal communities; and the pollution and desecration of culturally significant and sacred sites caused by Energy Fuels' uranium mill next to the White Mesa Ute Community that is turning into an international radioactive dump.
Background: The La Sal uranium mines complex, owned and operated by Energy Fuels Resources, is located near and in the town of La Sal in San Juan County, Utah.
The complex is made up of four mines covering 68 acres of land, two of which are currently being operated. The uranium ore from the mines at La Sal and near the Grand Canyon is sent to Energy Fuels’ Uranium Mill, located near the community of the White Mesa Band of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe.

White Mesa Concerned Community is a grassroots organization of tribal members of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe from the White Mesa Ute Community, located just south of Energy Fuels’ uranium mill. We work to inform our people and protect our community, health, water, air, land, culture, and sacred sites from toxic contamination.
