Hospitals in Gaza Bombed: Doctors and Patients Killed -- Babies in Incubators Need Oxygen

With more than one million marching today for Palestine in London, the masses marched in cities around the world -- from Glasgow, Scotland, shown here, to South Africa, Marseille, France, and Tempe, Arizona. A crowd of hundreds protested outside the home of President Biden in Delaware today calling for a ceasefire. While workers blocked the docks at shipyards in Australia, the Yurok Tribe became the first Native American Nation to call for a ceasefire.  Colombian President Gustavo Petro said he will formally file war crimes charges against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his regime's bloodshed in the besieged Gaza Strip. A brave crowd protested in Tel Aviv, Israel, holding protest signs calling for a ceasefire and saving all children.

Israeli tanks have surrounded Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital and the hospital’s director, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, said any person moving within the hospital compound is being attacked by Israeli snipers. Inside Al-Shifa Hospital, electricity has run out, with at least two premature babies having died and 37 at severe risk, reports Al Jazeera.

  • The WHO says it has lost communication with its contacts inside al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza.
  • Several hospitals in Gaza City and northern Gaza have been “directly hit” as Israel intensifies attacks around hospitals, the UN says. There are fears for hundreds of patients, including 37 premature babies in al-Shifa Hospital, as electricity fails in multiple hospitals.
  • Large marches calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza were held in cities around the world, including New York, London, Paris, Baghdad, Karachi, Berlin and Edinburgh. In Tel Aviv, Israelis gathered to call for the release of captives held by Hamas.
  • At least 11,078 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. These figures may not be the latest as several hospitals lost contact on Saturday, delaying updates from the Gaza Ministry of Health, according to the UN.
  • In Israel, after a downward revision, the death toll now stands at more than 1,200.

Yurok Tribe Calls for Ceasefire
.

Today, the Yurok Tribal Council issued a call for a cease-fire and an end to the violence that is currently taking place in the Middle East. The Tribal Council is especially concerned about the needless killing of innocent civilians. Too many elders, women, and children have died already. It is equally tragic to see thousands of people leaving their homes, while entire communities face an uncertain future. We have endured mass violence, displacement, and attempted genocide. The trauma caused by these devastating events continues to reverberate through our community. For these reasons, we are calling for a swift and equitable end to the conflict.
As people, we need to find a way to live in harmony with one another and the planet. Future generations are depending on us to restore balance and create a more prosperous and just world. Please help us amplify this message of peace and call for a cease-fire.

Netanyahu has been wagging the dog - the dog being the US government and misinformed American public opinion - since his rise as a celebrity CNN "reporter" during the Gulf War of 1991. Today, tragically, criminally, he continues to wag the dog or dogs - add Sunak, Braverman, Scholz, Trudeau to the list, among others - with genocidal ferocity and rapid fire lies and misinformation. He puts Jews, Muslims, and Palestinians at risk of violence in countries around the world and enables those who further advance sentiments of hatred and denial of the facts. Israel is a member state of the United Nations that has always effectively exercised its right to defend itself and then some. It has also abused human rights and international law when doing so best serves the interests of its government. Faced with the evidence streaming out of Gaza, nothing that Netanyahu promotes as his government's "day-after" plan should be received as anything other than a strategy whose aim is to impose a greater Israel on the immediate region with Palestinians sacrificed disproportionately as dehumanized collateral damage along the way. And so his claims should be rejected until the facts on the ground and a restart of diplomatic negotiations prove otherwise. One glimmer of hope, that the "street" in places far and near is refusing to fall for Israel's egregious violation of human rights, its disdain for common decency by any contemporary standard, and its doing so with impunity.

Mektoub! Shalom! Aho! Thanks for the ongoing coverage.

Note: Some news outlets are now reporting that families of Israeli hostages have descended on Netanyahu's residence to express their outrage toward his ongoing intransigence to negotiate the release of their loved ones. Confirmation pending.
