The Death Machine: Why Can't It Be Stopped

It has long been known that the US Border Patrol leaves migrants in the desert to die. When the Arizona police emails were hacked, Phoenix police said US Border Patrol agents in Ajo would not respond to migrants in distress in the Casa Grande desert. The agents would leave them there to die.

Now, there is a question. If the new spy towers on the Tohono O'odham Nation can track everything day and night with cameras and heat sensors in a seven-mile radius, as Elbit System claims, why are so many migrants still dying in the desert on the Tohono O'odham Nation?

Integrated fixed towers, spy towers, shown in yellow on the Tohono O'odham Nation and all along the Arizona border.

Do these spy towers really work? Who are they spying on? Are migrants in distress viewed and then left to die? These 11 spy towers on the Tohono O'odham Nation and all along the Arizona border, were built by Elbit Systems of Israel, a defense contractor for Israel.

Traditional Tohono O'odham opposes the construction of these spy towers on the Tohono O'odham Nation, which desecrated burial and ceremonial O'odham places, and now allow the U.S. Border Patrol to violate and stalk O'odham. The Tohono O'odham Nation elected government approved the construction of the spy towers by the Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems after the contract was issued by the U.S. government.

A global campaign to shut down Israel's Elbit Systems is now underway in England, Boston and Florida in the United States, Australia, Canada, and around the world. Elbit Systems is one of three Israeli companies which receive US Department of Defense contracts. The companies are Elbit Systems, an Israeli defense contractor; Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), owned by Israel; and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, an Israeli defense contractor that partners with Raytheon Missiles, in Tucson, Arizona.

Elbit produces weaponized drones and surveillance used by Israel to imprison, torture and kill Palestinians. Elbit is now being protested and shut down at locations around the world -- England, Boston, Australia and elsewhere, as hospitals are being bombed and doctors and patients are being murdered in large numbers in Palestine right now.

The United Nations proves powerless to stop this genocide and these war crimes in Palestine.

The death makers are also on the Arizona border. They are the Death Reapers.

Israel continues to bomb hospitals and schools in Gaza. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, Al-Shifa Hospital's director, said today, Sunday, that constant fighting could be heard around the complex. Three neonatal [unit] babies have died, yesterday two and one today." The hospital's last generator ran out of fuel Saturday, leading to the deaths of three premature babies and four other patients, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry. It said another 36 babies are at risk of dying.

New in the Series, Part III: Left to Die

Among the disappeared cases handled by the Crisis Line, there are numerous instances in which a traveling companion witnessed the moment of the missing person’s death. There is the case of a 22-year-old who died after becoming ill from drinking contaminated water, and the case of the 26-year-old from Guatemala whose body was last seen in a ditch near a backroad on the Tohono O’odham Nation. There is the 19-year-old from Mexico who died of dehydration while crossing through the desert west of Lukeville, Arizona in the heat of summer; the 24-year-old from Honduras who lost consciousness and perished in South Texas; the 27-year-old who died in the brush after having been chased by Border Patrol agents, whose traveling companions were too frightened of law enforcement to report the location of his body to authorities.
