With hands raised to show the bloodshed in Palestine, during a Senate Appropriations hearing, Retired Col. Ann Wright was among those arrested, calling out the United States for the murder of children, as the Senate sought more funding for war on Tuesday.
Col. Wright came to Tucson during the years when Fort Huachuca Army Base was exposed for its role in torture in Abu Ghraib. Wright was later arrested on a Boat to Gaza and jailed in Israel. Wright, a 29-year US Army veteran and former diplomat, resigned 20 years ago in opposition to the US war on Iraq.
On Tuesday, she yelled out her opposition to war, calling for a ceasefire, and pointing out that 8,300 Palestinians, including 3,500 children have been killed by Israel's genocide. During her arrest during the Senate hearing, she called out from the Senate floor, "No More Money for War."

"I resigned over that war in Iraq that you talked out, that was a terrible thing, and what we are doing right now supporting Israel's genocide of Gaza is a terrible thing too," she yelled out as she was taken away by security.
Urging peace, Wright yelled out, while in custody in the Senate hall, "Trillions of dollars for war!"
