SHUT THEM DOWN!

Witnessing the brutality of child detention, the reality of concentration camps of immigrant/migrant communities shocks and paralyzes. Do not look away from what is happening.  As Native American/Indian people we know the lasting trauma state separation carries as many of our parents are survivors of forced separations into boarding schools and residential schools that ripped Indian children from their families placing them in facilities like Carlisle Indian School, PA, in order to “kill the Indian, and save the man.” The wide ranges of abuses continue to be uncovered with wounds that were never fully reconciled and healed. https://boardingschoolhealing.org/

Reports of deteriorating conditions comparing these child detention facilities to “torture facilities” continue to emerge.https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/doctor-compares-conditions-immigrant-holding-centers-torture-facilities/story?id=63879031

To see such cruel depravity and feel hopeless is the goal. We have a responsibility to stop their detention.  The world has an urgent responsibility and moral obligation to act, to PROTECT them!

Demand the government shut these facilities down! Organize!

Divest Geo Group and CoreCivic for human rights violations of immigrant children, people, and families! Business cannot go on as usual when children are being viciously abused!

Do you know the slimy snake history of GEO private prisons and Wackenhut? Wackenhut, which once provided the notorious security on Black Mesa for Peabody Coal, split into two corporations, for maximum benefits from cruelty. GEO is now among the primary owners of U.S. migrant prisons, and documented child abuse and prisoner abuse. Wackenhut was plastered on the buses headed to detention, which snaked along the Arizona border seizing migrants for cash, with a contract from U.S. Homeland Security. After receiving the border contract, Wackenhut was then purchased by G4S in London. G4S is a global leader in prisoner abuse. Along with the foreign contractors on the U.S. border is Elbit Systems, Israel's defense contractor, which provides Apartheid security in Palestine. Elbit now has a contract with U.S. Homeland Security for new spy towers. The Tohono O'odham elected government recently approved Elbit to construct new spy towers on its sovereign land, which GuVo District opposes, stating those towers will disturb burial places and a Ceremonial area. At the border, for the United States, it is about money, power, and control of natural resources, with total disregard for all living things, including endangered species. And the children, including Indigenous children being seized, are viewed as inhuman, objects to be used, abused and thrown away by the U.S. government.
