ALI JEGK, Tohono O'odham Nation -- The U.S. military intruded on Ali Jegk, a small village on the sovereign Tohono O'odham Nation, late yesterday. The U.S. military helicopter here was attempting to terrorize O'odham in their homes in this remote community, which opposes the United States and Israeli spy towers now targeting their community.
An O'odham living in the village told Censored News, "These are not Border Patrol helicopters."
"This is military tactics training in Ali Jegk village -- false justification of militarization, the wall and IFT towers and expending military funds.
"The general public should hold superior authorities of the US government accountable on human rights violations."
This community is in Gu-Vo District, which opposes the spy towers, Integrated Fixed Towers, that the United States government and the Israeli defense corporation Elbit Systems, plan to build here. The construction of spy towers will disturb burial places and a Ceremonial area, O'odham here said.
The elected Tohono O'odham government approved the spy towers, even though the district opposed the towers by resolution.
The community is on the remote western side of the Tohono O'odham Nation. It is near Organ Pipe National Monument, which Trump has targeted for immediate border wall construction. The U.S. Appeals Court has just halted the use of funds for the border wall construction here, and elsewhere in Arizona and New Mexico.
Elbit Systems, the Israeli defense contractor, has a contract with U.S. Homeland Security to build the spy towers throughout the sovereign Tohono O'odham Nation. Elbit is responsible for Apartheid security in Palestine. Elbit is protested around the world for violations of human rights.
Don't be fooled by false claims that Elbit Systems is a US company, just because it opened an office in the U.S. It is a longtime Israeli defense contractor.
When U.S. Homeland Security gave Elbit the towers contract, Israelis celebrated it in Israel. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz wrote this:
"Elbit Systems, the Israeli defense contractor that provides security surveillance along the separation barrier with the West Bank, will soon be providing similar technology along the United States-Mexico border." -- Haaretz
It is clearly responsible for Apartheid security, and an Israeli defense contractor.
