CANNONBALL, North Dakota -- Over 300 police officers in riot gear, 8 ATVs, 5 armored vehicles, 2 helicopters, and numerous military-grade humvees showed up north of the newly formed frontline camp just east of Highway 1806.  The 1851 Treaty Camp was set up this past Sunday directly in the path of the pipeline, on land recently purchased by DAPL.  Today this camp, a reclamation of unceded Dakota territory affirmed as part of the Standing Rock Reservation in the Ft. Laramie Treaty of 1851, was violently cleared.  Both blockades established this past weekend to enable that occupation were also cleared.

Militarized Police Attack Standing Rock Treaty Camp: Rubber bullets, tear gas, arrests of elders

.
"Today we stood strong against this Nazi oil bought police force. They set off LRAD on us, hit us, maced us, arrested our grandmothers, uncles, they shot at our horse relatives, they set off concussion grenades, rubber bullets into the unarmed crowd. They desecrated sacred land and destroyed our homes on tribal land. We had snipers scoping me out with an assault rifle pointed at me and my relative. Our hearts were wounded but we will regroup and keep our minds in high vibrations because it is not over.
We will stop the pipeline." Cepoalli

Water Protector: "I saw an 18 year old young man get shot while on a horse today--then his horse. I was standing 20 feet away. I saw young warriors on horse being chased on ATV's, being shot at. I saw our former chairman get arrested. I saw an Unci get maced right in the face. I saw the cops drag two men from the sweatlodge, feet from me, in their underwear and slammed face down into the ground and arrested. All these crimes were committed against our people on land guaranteed to our people under the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851."

Seven buses (3 with troops, the rest empty) escorted by 8 Highway Patrols and 2 deuce and a halfs just now confirmed going south on Hwy 6 about 4 miles south of Mandan at 9:35 am Central time. Stay in the ditch if you don't want to be arrested but go to support! They may be trying to surprise from the south access on 1806. Be alert it takes them 40 minutes to get there so by 10:30 am you will know.

By Robert --- "At 9:30 am Thurs. morning. There are private security roaming around and and an encampment of cops and military over the hill. I suppose they believe if we can't directly see them then we won't know they are there ha. Still, it's a beautiful day and relatively warm. Enjoy your day and keep pushing out the news about what's happening here."

Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault:

"Militarized law enforcement agencies moved in on water protectors with tanks and riot gear today. We continue to pray for peace. We call on the state of North Dakota to oversee the actions of local law enforcement to, first and foremost, ensure everyone’s safety. The Department of Justice must send overseers immediately to ensure the protection of First Amendment rights and the safety of thousands here at Standing Rock. DOJ can no longer ignore our requests. If harm comes to any who come here to stand in solidarity with us, it is on their watch. They must step in and hold the state of North Dakota and Morton County accountable for their acts of violence against innocent, prayerful people.
The Obama administration has asked DAPL to voluntarily halt construction until the review process has been completed, but DAPL has ignored these repeated requests. By deploying law enforcement to support DAPL construction, the State of North Dakota is collaborating with Energy Transfer Partners and escalating tensions.
We need our state and federal governments to bring justice and peace to our lands, not the force of armored vehicles.
We have repeatedly seen a disproportionate response from law enforcement to water protectors’ nonviolent exercise of their constitutional rights. Today we have witnessed people praying in peace, yet attacked with pepper spray, rubber bullets, sound and concussion cannons. We urge state and federal government agencies to give this tense situation their immediate and close attention.
We also call on the thousands of water protectors who stand in solidarity with us against DAPL to remain in peace and prayer. Any act of violence hurts our cause and is not welcome here. We invite all supporters to join us in prayer that, ultimately, the right decision—the moral decision—is made to protect our people, our sacred places, our land and our resources. We won't step down from this fight. As peoples of this earth, we all need water. This is about our water, our rights, and our dignity as human beings."

Police beat Native American water protectors with batons and pepper spray them in unprovoked attack

By Brenda Norrell

STANDING ROCK, North Dakota -- The Morton County Sheriff and police carried out a brutal attack on Native Americans as they gathered for prayer today. Native Americans and supporters defending the water of the Missouri River from the Dakota Access Pipeline were beaten with batons by police, pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground.
More than 80 water protectors were arrested today during the unprovoked attack by police on peaceful water protectors. The police are defending a private pipeline.
Tipiwizin, a young mother at Standing Rock, called out for help, urging all those who came and camped at Standing Rock to return.
"The police, the military, armored vehicles, assault rifles, they are chasing our people, surrounded our people, chasing them into the river."
Watching the live stream today, she said, "I started crying, holding my baby daughter, because we come from people who were chased down, hunted down and gunned down by the military and the police. History is repeating itself. All those stories we were raised with, that we carry in our hearts, of our people, fleeing, running, racing, for our lives, just to live. We are the grandchildren and great grandchildren of those who survived the US Government federally mandated massacres on our people."

In an unprecedented amount of lies in the media, the Morton County Sheriff has falsely accused the water protectors of being violent and being armed. The local media, revealing a long history of racism, have repeated these lies in the media.
In a steady stream of misinformation, the mainstream media reported that President Obama had halted the pipeline construction. Again, this is misinformation. DAPL, owned by Kelcy Warren, who has become the face of genocide for Native Americans, is racing to complete the construction.
The DAPL construction is near a burial place where water protectors were attacked with vicious dogs and pepper sprayed on Sept. 3.
The Morton County Sheriff is engaging in strip searches and false imprisonment of Native American men and women, who are jailed without credible charges. The owner of the land where the Camp of the Sacred Stones Camp is located, said her daughter was arrested without cause, while traveling in a car away from the area, strip searched and jailed naked.Dakotas, Lakotas and Nakotas here say this abuse is recreating the historical trauma, a result of their ancestors who were murdered and subjected to sexual violence by the Calvary and U.S. military.

Standing Rock Water Protectors Beaten with Batons, Pepper Sprayed During Prayer

More than 140 arrested and taken to county jails throughout North Dakota on Saturday night

In the early morning of October 22nd 2016, Water Protectors left the encampment to walk to DAPL work site #127, off highway 1806. We walked to the work site where our comrades locked themselves down to equipment to prevent any more work being done on the Black Snake. They took action because the Black Snake must not be built, the risk is too high and a devastating spill is an inevitability, we went because we too recognize our duty to take action. We went because we have had enough of Energy Transfer Partners and this pipeline, and so have all of us here at Oceti Sakowin, we have had enough of the heavy handed terrorism so casually deployed by Kyle Kerchmeier of the Morton County Sheriffs, DAPL Private Security G4S, and the National Guard.

Over 140+ Water Protectors were chased down by riot police, pepper sprayed, beaten with batons, and kettled in. The police made the mass arrests at this site, the charges were Criminal Trespass, and Engaging in a riot. The First wave of innocent Protectors were in court today and all pled not guilty, they are awaiting trial at this time.

DAPL is in direct violation UNDRIP on Sacred Sites and as well as in violation of all Indigenous Laws anywhere worldwide. To desecrate the bodies of our Ancestors is an abomination, yet somehow the illegal and corrupt Government and corporations give themselves permission to take these actions in the name of genocide and land theft. They work together and promote a capitalist lifestyle that is in direct opposition to natural law, they are rooted in profits and have no sense of the destruction to not only land and water but also to Indigenous Peoples lives they leave in their wake. They have no jurisdiction or permission from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to build this pipeline, and it is not only our right and our duty to protect the Ancestors it is our responsibility to the future generations to take action to uphold the People’s right to say NO.

The future of the planet depends on what Indigenous Land Defenders and Water Protectors do NOW, we cannot afford to sell the future of the entire planet for momentary and monetary greed. They are unleashing a violent fascist police state on the people in a bid to make the most money the fastest, leaving our lands and water poisoned. We recognize that we the People acting in Unity and Prayer will stop this pipeline, and we are acting accordingly.

Water Protectors’ Prayer Walk Confronts DAPL Construction near Lake Oahe

Morton County, ND – Early on Saturday, October 22nd, water protectors from the camps near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation set out on foot to confront construction that threatens to destroy more sacred burial sites.
Dakota Access has continued with construction despite the September 9 request from the federal government to suspend construction within 20 miles east and west of Lake Oahe. On Saturday morning dozens of riot police were guarding the construction site, which is about five miles away from the encampments. Unicorn Riot was on the ground providing live streaming coverage today.
