Censored News
It was an incredible year for Censored News, with the breaking news from the San Francisco Peaks protests topping the list. The reaction to Diane Sawyer’s “Children of the Plains,” was the second most accessed.
Censored News original articles on militia at the US/Mexico border, police brutality of the Occupy movement nationwide, and the protest in Phoenix of ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council, by Navajos and O’odham topped this year's list for readers.
Another reader favorite was “Censored News Person of the Year: The Indigenous Woman.” The list of heroes was comprised by our readers, as to who made a difference this year.
Censored News honors our Photographers of the Year, all Native youths. The Youths of the Peaks and the Indigenous Action Media in Flagstaff, Ariz., provided Censored News with photos of the protests and lockdowns for the protection of sacred San Francisco Peaks as those happened.
Censored News also honors Ben Powless, Mohawk, who each year generously shares his photos for the protection of Mother Earth. This year he provided photos from the Indigenous Environmental Network’s annual gathering on the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nations in North Dakota; of the White House arrests during the Tarsands Keystone XL protest, and the COP 17 climate summit in South Africa.
This year’s Censored News Spirit Award goes to the Renegade Walkers, who against all odds, walked across America. The Renegade Walkers are Carl 'Bad Bear' Sampson, Western Shoshone, Manny Calapoo of Warm Springs, Oregon, Lisa Peake, Ojibwe/Pomo, T-Hawk, Mohawk/Tongan, and Lakota elder Paul Owns the Sabre, from Cheyenne River, SD.
The Breaking News Source of the Year was Twitter, with special thanks to Anonymous, Wikileaks and the Lulz and Cabin hacktivists who exposed the truth.
Censored News provided breaking news this year of the arrests of Native Americans at the White House protesting the Tarsands Keystone XL Pipeline. During the summer, Censored News broadcast with Earthcycles at the IEN gathering in North Dakota. Throughout the year, racist attacks on Native Americans in the US, and environmental racism targeting Indigenous Peoples world-wide, were also documented.
A special thanks goes out to all the writers, photographers and videographers who contributed this year to Censored News. Because of your contributions and relentless efforts, Censored News was an unrivaled news source in 2011.
We look forward to another year of cutting edge truth, undaunted action, and brilliance from all of you.
Thank you.

This is a tremendous collection of news that has been overlooked as you say. After a perusal of the articles one that I might add to this blacklist would be any information on cold fusion and specifically what Andrea Rossi has been up to with his e-cat machine. Definitely swept under the rug.
