O'odham VOICE Against the WALL publie un rapport sur les droits humains d'Elbit Systems et appelle au désinvestissement.
Tucson, Arizona (Août 2021)-O'odham VOICE Against the WALL a créé un rapport sur les droits humains concernant les impacts négatifs et les violations commises par action ou omission par Elbit Systems et le gouvernement états-unien en relation avec les tours fixes intégrées (IFTs) et le mur frontalier.

Le rapport constitue une perspective autochtone des droits humains sur les violations des droits de l'homme dont sont victimes les peuples autochtones, en particulier les impacts auxquels sont confrontés les O'odhams traditionnels (O'odham signifie peuple) lorsqu'ils vivent sur leurs territoires ancestraux et là où la frontière internationale les a traversés.
Le rapport montre que ces violations des droits humains se multiplient depuis des centaines d'années et sont actuellement exacerbées par le sentiment anti-immigration et la militarisation croissante.
En outre, les États-Unis n'ont pas respecté leur responsabilité de consulter de manière significative les O'odham et les communautés de base, notamment en ce qui concerne les impacts des tours fixes intégrées d'Elbit Systems. De même, les États-Unis n'ont pas respecté leurs obligations en vertu des principes internationaux des droits humains en n'obtenant pas le consentement des O'odhams des deux côtés de la frontière lors de la construction du mur États-Unis/Mexique.
En conséquence, les O'odham sont constamment surveillés par les agents de la patrouille frontalière et les travailleurs d'Elbit Systems. Les O'odham ne peuvent pas se déplacer librement ni participer à des cérémonies. Les passages traditionnels permettant de relier les O'odham ont été fermés par la patrouille frontalière et sont surveillés. La construction du mur frontalier et des tours fixes intégrées a marqué la terre et mis davantage en danger la vie animale et végétale qui sont sacrées et font partie intégrante du mode de vie des O'odhams.
Les États-Unis et Elbit Systems doivent cesser leurs activités le long de la frontière, respecter les normes relatives aux droits humains des peuples autochtones et remédier aux effets négatifs sur les terres et les communautés qui ont été identifiés.
Malgré tous ces défis, les O'odham continuent de se battre sur cette ligne de front pour la justice, la visibilité et la dignité afin de rester sur les territoires traditionnels O'odham comme ils le font depuis des millénaires. Leur histoire et leur force dans l'adversité témoignent du pouvoir des O'odham et de celui des peuples autochtones de toute l'île de la Tortue.

O 'odham VOICE Against the WALL releases Elbit Systems human rights report and calls for disinvestment.
Tucson, Arizona (August 2021)-O ' odham VOICE Against the WALL has created a human rights report on negative impacts and violations committed by Elbit Systems and the U.S. government in relation to the Integrated fixed towers (IFTs) and border wall.
The report provides an indigenous perspective on human rights violations against indigenous peoples, especially the impacts facing traditional O 'odhams ( O' odham means people) when living in their ancestral territories and where the international border crossed them.
The report shows that these human rights violations have been multiplying for hundreds of years and are currently exacerbated by anti-immigration sentiment and increasing militarization.
In addition, the US has not respected its responsibility to consult significantly with O ' odhams and core communities, especially with regard to the impacts of Elbit Systems's integrated fixed towers. Similarly, the United States did not comply with its obligations under international human rights principles by failing to obtain O ' odhams consent from both sides of the border during the construction of the United States / Mexico wall.
As a result, the O ' odhams are constantly being monitored by border patrol officers and Elbit Systems workers. O ' odhams can't move freely nor participate in ceremonies. Traditional crossings linking the O ' odhams have been closed by the border patrol and are being monitored. The construction of the border wall and integrated fixed towers has marked the earth and put the animal and plant life more at risk that are sacred and part of the O ' odhams lifestyle.
The United States and Elbit Systems must stop activities along the border, respect indigenous people s' human rights standards and address negative impacts on identified lands and communities.
Despite all these challenges, the O 'odhams continue to fight on this front line for justice, visibility and dignity to remain in O' odham traditional territories as they have been doing for millennia. Their history and strength in adversity reflects the power of the O ' odhams and the power of indigenous peoples throughout Turtle Island.
