Flight volunteers help grassroots Navajo Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief reach most in need

(July 8, 2020) -- The first flight of the Navajo Airbridge Program made possible by partnership between Airserv and Navajo and Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief Fund is ready to go.

This flight will be the first of two flights delivered to Chinle, Arizona, today. Cargo for these flights consist of 50 cases (4 gallons per case) of sanitizer per plane, and 30 cases of water (3.16 gallons each) per plane. Supplies will be delivered to rural Navajo Nation communities of Black Mesa, Blue Gap, Hard Rock, Low Mountain, Whipporwhill, Salina Springs,Cottonwood, Pinion and Tsaile by Team Lead Walton Yazzie and Chinle volunteers.

Special thank you to “PPE for Navajo First Responders” and Terry’s group “Helping Hands for the Navajo Nation” for the sanitizer supply and delivery to the airport. Thank you to Ginger, volunteer, and Danielle Payant, Airserv Communications Director, for coordination and loading of supplies on the ground. Thank you to Walton Yazzie and Chinle volunteers for all your hard work to deliver supplies to Navajo community members in remote areas.

Below: July 9, 2020 -- Today flights 3 and 4 of our Navajo Air Bridge program with Airserv International was deployed carrying relief supplies of tents, cots, and sleeping bags for COVID-19 relatives in Whitecone and Dilkon communities. In addition, immune-compromised  supplies and water were delivered for the Kayenta, Arizona community that will be delivered to Black Mesa and surrounding areas.
