Bad Bear's Photos Longest Walk 4 Dec. 17, 2013

Longest Walk 4 Return to Alcatraz taking those final steps toward Alcatraz, with arrival on Dec. 21. A Sovereignty Gathering will be held on Dec. 22 at Oakland Friendship House. Thanks to Carl Bad Bear Sampson, Western Shoshone long walker, for sharing his photos each day!

The longest walkers will be at Sogorea Te tomorrow, Weds 12/18 at 1 pm. Please come out and show your support tomorrow if you can. Bring food to share.

Friday12/20 the walkers will be walking in honor of Bill Wahpepah 

On Saturday 12/21 meet the walkers at Pier 33, they will be catching the 8:20am ferry. Tickets are $14.00. They will be returning at 10:30

Sunday 12/22 Please come out and join us for a community conversation on the "Re-affirmation of Indigenous Sovereignty" at 10 am at Intertribal Friendship House, followed at 1 pm by a celebration of Bill Wahpepah's life and contribution to the movement as well as history of Indian activism. PLEASE BRING FOOD TO SHARE AND YOUR OWN PLATES, UTENSILS AND CUPS and music for later...

We are still looking for donations toward one Pendleton blanket, stay places for 30 walkers on both Friday and Saturday evenings and monetary donations for the walkers to get home. Donations can be made at website on paypal, or checks can be made out to Sharon Heta , 10926 Edes Ave Oakland CA 94603
