OBAMA, YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS!

Militarized police repeatedly beat the Standing Rock water protectors, shot them with rubber bullets and tear gassed them during October and November.
Cheyenne River Chairman Harold Frazier met with Obama in Los Angeles in October and asked him to intervene. Obama did nothing to prevent the ongoing police violence, and instead, Obama went golfing and to a $100,000 a plate Democratic fundraiser in Los Angeles.
When police attacked the water protectors at the Treaty Camp, on the path of Dakota Access Pipeline, elderly Native women were arrested in ceremony. Morton County strip searched them, and jailed Native American women, men and elderly, in "dog kennels' with numbers written on their arms as was done in Nazi concentration camps.
Earlier, as the water protectors began their resistance in the spring of 2016 at Standing Rock, Obama issued a permit to Energy Transfer Partners, owners of Dakota Access Pipeline, in May, to cross the southern border into Mexico with their fracked gas pipeline. There, Energy Transfer Partners, the new face of Apartheid and Genocide, bulldozed ancient Indian sites at Big Bend, Texas. The bulldozing of Big Bend sites came after Dakota Access Pipeline bulldozed burial places at Standing Rock in September. At that time, DAPL security guards sicced vicious dogs on those struggling to protect the burial places from the bulldozers.
Two years ago, Obama visited Cannon Ball, North Dakota, the site of today's camps of water protectors. Obama was photographed holding babies at Standing Rock at the time. Obama did not reveal that Dakota Access Pipeline had filed for permits with the US Dept. of Energy just months before, in the spring of 2014.
Under pressure two weeks ago as Native Americans and supporters were being brutalized, Obama said, "We are going to let it play out for several more weeks ..."
Energy Transfer Partners map below shows that Dakota Access Pipeline is part of a larger pipeline system, with transfer points, that goes all the way from the Alberta tar sands in Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
