More on this video -- A virtual media blackout, again no surprise. Also, upon all of encroaching the Wells Fargo branch on 1600 Vine Street, Los Angeles, CA, Wells Fargo officials closed their doors and prohibited anyone from entering or existing. Inside the Wells Fargo branch, however, was Gloria Arellanes, a Tongva elder and community activist. Wells Fargo officials falsely imprisoned her - prohibited her from leaving. Subsequently, she called 911 and when the Los Angeles Police arrived, they instructed Wells Fargo to release her. You see Gloria Arellanes exiting the Wells Fargo branch about 17 minutes into the Part 1 of the video. The Action was joined by Indigenous activist Gloria Arrellanes (Tongva Elder) and Tokota Iron Eyes (Standing Rock Sioux Nation and Youth Activist) and celebrity activist luminaries such as: Jane Fonda, Delores Huerta, Catherine Keener, Frances Fisher, Lily Tomlin, and more.

Live Monday morning, Sept. 18, 2017 by Unicorn Riot: Alberta tarsands pipeline threatening water, gathering of wild rice, and hunting and fishing rights of local Native American Nations. At 8 a.m., no security was on site.

"Storms are really bad, the carbon in the atmosphere is causing this," says the man who is locked down.
"Here's your war."
"The kids at home are going to suffer for our mistakes."


One man is locked down to halt the flow of Alberta tarsands in Wisconsin, 15 miles from Minnesota, where Enbridge does not have a permit. The man locked down says we are out of time, the hurricanes and wildfires show us that kids will now suffer from this climate change.

LAKE SUPERIOR: Water protectors continue their nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience campaign to shut down construction on Enbridge's Line 3 pipeline.
In the early morning of September 14, three water protectors locked themselves inside of and on cars in the middle of two driveways where construction workers dispatch to work sites across the state of Wisconsin.

With these signs of climate crisis all around us, global people's movements are pursuing diverse efforts in education, advocacy and action to divest financing from fossil fuel and extractive infrastructure projects around the world.  In the context of the global Fossil Fuel Divestment movement, the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) is working to ensure that Indigenous and frontline women have the opportunity to speak for themselves, directly to the institutions, governments and policy makers whose decisions are harming their communities and territories.  We have found this to be not only an effective strategy for gaining advocacy and policy results, but also a vital and powerful process for women leaders, as they actively seek justice, enact solutions, and speak truth in the face of injustice.  Please click here to make a donation in support of these efforts through WECAN's DIVEST, INVEST, PROTECT program.
