"The Navajo Nation is a testament to how the fossil fuel industries have failed the economy, the environment and the people. If hydrogen further exacerbates the climate crisis we are experiencing on the Navajo Nation already, then Navajo has no business pursuing, investing in, or endorsing hydrogen." Jessica Keetso, Tó Nizhóní Ání organizer.

On Tuesday, a coalition of New Mexico community, environmental, and justice organizations warned state and federal lawmakers of the risks of diving head-first into fossil-fueled hydrogen projects. The groups’ letter provides guidance on the context and safeguards that must be enacted before hydrogen projects are considered in the San Juan Basin, and in New Mexico generally.

While Paiute Shoshone Myron Dewey livestreamed from the bombing range of his childhood homeland in Yomba, in the Nevada desert on Saturday, September 25 -- the day before he died in a car collision on Sunday -- people around the world were reading of another exposure of the military in the Nevada desert.

It was the fact that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was targeted for kidnapping, and possibly assassination, by the CIA. Wikileaks exposed the fact that drone pilots at Creech Airforce Base in the Nevada desert had their fingers on the kill trigger, and were assassinating people around the world, without trial or jury, including children and news reporters, in reckless assassinations based on failed military intelligence.

Meanwhile, Myron was exposing the destruction from the Navy's bombing range in his homeland. In the ancestral land of the Paiute and Shoshone, in what is today known as Nevada, there are the scars, the poisons, the death trail, of the Nuclear Test Site, widespread radiation and cancer, and the reckless bombing practices and military games destroying sacred places.

Bacum Yaqui are demanding the return of their kidnapped family members alive, and say the identification of remains by the government, of five of the ten men, is not credible. When they were kidnapped, they were serving as security for Bacum Pueblo, that is opposing the Sonora gas pipeline and mining in Sonora, south of the Arizona border. Bacum Yaqui said the President's 'Justice Plan' will not halt the theft of Yaqui River water for the City of Hermosillo.
