Information on Prayer Ceremony, "Hemblaca" & location of Camp for Ceremony

By now, you have read that IRS auctioned off 7100 acres of land owned by the Crow Creek Farm, a Corporation under the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe. IRS sold the land to pay for employment taxes unpaid by the Tribe after the Tribe was informed by a BIA official (erroneous advice) that they did not have to pay taxes because the Tribe was a federally recognized sovereign nation.. The Tribe was negotiating a loan at the time IRS auctioned the land.

Chairman Brandon Sazue and the Tribe are setting up Camp on the Land and Chairman Sazue will "Hemblaca" (Fast and Pray) for "as long as it takes!"

I am receiving many e-mails from people who wish to help. In case you wish to travel to Crow Creek to Pray and support the Crow Creek Sioux, the location is below.

Chairman Sazue states: "I am now marking the spot,"SIOUX LAND IS NOT FOR SALE", 2 miles west of the CrowCreek High school ( HWY 34 )." The land is located North of Ft.Thompson, on highway 34, west of Stephan ( CrowCreek High School ). Between Stephan and the BigBend District.Maybe 5 or so miles west of Stephan on highway 34.

It is Winter and the Temperature in central SD is bitterly cold with expected highs around 0 to 5 degrees only. The wind can blow on the Prairie, creating even more extreme severe cold. Those who enter into Hemblaca (Prayer offering and sacrifice) will give all that they have to the Creator, for the land is not for sale. The Tribe has no money or riches to give to the Creator, just themselves to offer. The Crow Creek reservation is on the poorest County in the United States. How does one explain the true meaning of what our land where our ancestors lay, means to us as Sioux People? In this day of greed ("wasinicu" takes the fat!) and the Me generation, there is no way to relate our feeling for our land Your Prayers are appreciated.

Dear Brothers and Sisters;
Recently, the IRS has seized and auctioned 7100 acres of our prime development land on the Crow Creek Reservation. We have tried to raise funds for months to save our land. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. We have tried to stop them from auctioning off our land through the justice system, however justice did not prevail.

It is no secret that Buffalo County is the poorest county in the nation and that 78% of the people on our reservation live far below the poverty line; this is why we are reaching out to our Native Brothers and Sisters. Only you know the importance of retaining our land base.

Recently, we were granted a trial for a judge to decide whether or not we should be allowed to keep this property, which they already sold to a non-Indian. This allows us 120 days to raise 4 million dollars to purchase our land back and clear up the levy that the IRS ($600,000) has on the property.

(MONTREAL GAZETTE Dec. 5, 2009) Doctors are threatening to resign in mass in opposition to a proposed uranium mine by Vancouver-based Terra Ventures at Kachiwiss Lake, about 13 kilometres from Sept Îles in Quebec. They believe it will harm the environment and the health of area residents. The doctors believe they must exit and warn other residents.

The Innus of Uashat-Maliotenam oppose uranium exploration at lac Kachiwiss. The band council has summoned Terra Ventures to abandon its work. The head of the band council of Sept-Îles (Uashat)-Maliotenam, George-Ernest Grégoire, said that the Innus would never give approval to the exploitation of a uranium deposit on their ancestrales land. Arrogant Canadian mining company says it is above US law
By Brenda Norrell (TORONTO) Western Shoshone prevailed in the Ninth Circuit Court this week in their efforts to halt gold mining on sacred Mount Tenabo. However, the Canadian mining company Barrick Gold said it will ignore the US federal court ruling and continue mining. While Barrick plans to continue its genocidal mining in Indigenous territories, Barrick's stockholders have taken notice and stocks plummeted.

AP's Fonseca lobbying for Peabody Coal again
(By Brenda Norrell) AP writer Felicia Fonseca continues her biased coverage of Indian country today, with a classic example of how news reporters promote the poisoning of Indian country by energy companies. In her article on the EPA withdrawing the water discharge permit of Peabody Coal on Black Mesa, she places Peabody Coal's comments in the first portion of the article, before the Navajo Nation government's response, and doesn't even bother to quote the grassroots Navajo and Hopi people who live on Black Mesa.

EPA withdraws water permit for Peabody Coal Black Mesa

EPA’s permit withdrawal means that discharges of heavy metal and pollutants – including selenium, nitrates, and other heavy metals and toxic pollutants from coal-mining operations at the Black Mesa Complex – are threatening washes, tributaries, groundwater, and the drinking water for local communities, but are not being regulated.

However, there was no good news for the Crow Creek Sioux, one of the nation's most economically desperate people. Border guards put her in a stresshold used for torture and induced a heart attack in 2006. Another prominent woman was also halted at the border in 2007, anti-torture activist retired Army Col. Ann Wright. Peace activist Wright was denied entry into Canada.

SAN FRANCISCO -- There is a news revolution underway, evolving in much the same way that the Civil Rights movement evolved. People got fed up, stood up and said, "We're not going to take it anymore." It is the same way that the Indigenous revolutions exploded in the south, from Che Guevara to the Zapatistas, with the cry: "Ya Basta! Enough is enough!"

If you so much as glance at CNN, you know there is a media crisis bringing about the continuation of US war and torture, misinformation and the distortion of facts.

The most glaring example is CNN's tactic of focusing on one criminal case, or one famous personality. The single victim which is the focus of the obsession is usually white. On the other hand, the evil-doers who are targeted are usually people of color.

And it is distraction.

As long as TV viewers obsess over one individual or one crime, they can not ask the real questions: Is the US in Afghanistan because the US has found a fertile ground for its drug smuggling operations? Where has the US strewn depleted uranium and Agent Orange? Why did the Obama administration allow CIA kidnappings to continue and suppress the US torture photos? How many innocent people are murdered around the world by US drones? Who profiteered from the sale of swine flu medications?

Of course, it is the holiday season and no one in the US wants to think about these topics. Still, around the world, news reporters who have lost their jobs continue to work without pay and publish their articles on the Internet.

Many people write and ask me how to finance an online newspaper. I don't have a clue. I don't know any way to publish the truth these days and make a living from it. Eventually advertisers or financial backers will seize control or demand their agenda. The articles, too often, become a series of personal vendettas and politics.

Although the economy has become the scapegoat for the dying US news industry, newspapers didn't go broke just because of the collapsed economy.

The news industry became bankrupt because it became a system of whores, selling themselves out a little at a time, until there was nothing left.
