Arizona mining promoters often claim that the world faces a drastic copper shortage that will block the development of a clean energy economy needed to avert the worst impacts of climate change.

The only way to achieve a decarbonized future, they say, is for copper-rich Arizona to avert the supply crisis by developing another generation of so-called “sustainable” copper mines.

Their pitch then deploys an America First trope that other countries, like China, will fill the void without Arizona developing new copper mines.

Traditional territories of the Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga, and Wendake-Nionwentsïo First Nations (so-called Toronto, Ontario, Canada) – Despite abruptly canceling the in-person portion of their annual general meeting (AGM) today, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) faced growing calls to phase out coal, oil, gas, and tar sands funding, and instead invest in a safe, and renewable future.

Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs and climate finance experts asked the RBC Board and management about their role in violating Indigenous rights by bankrolling projects that perpetuate genocide against Indigenous Peoples, such as the Coastal GasLink pipeline, as well as the role of RBC’s fossil fuel financing contributing to the climate crisis. Melina Laboucan-Massimo, the co-founder of Indigenous Climate Action, spoke to shareholders about how RBC’s financing of the tar sands has detrimental impacts to her homelands, the health of Indigenous people on their territory and to the climate.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated a Trump administration rule that significantly undermines state and tribal authority to protect water quality under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. The rule is in effect while the U.S. 9th Circuit of Appeals hears the case.

This decision will harm communities by allowing dangerous fossil fuel projects to get approved without full evaluation of the risks they pose.

MNN. April 1, 2022. On April Fool’s Day Pope Francis on behalf of the Catholic Church announced that they are guilty of the biggest holocaust in all humanity. The kaianerekowa, great peace, and all indigenous laws have always been the laws of turtle island.  All other laws are Admiralty Law of the Sea, which were void from the beginning. The Pope has apologized on behalf of Canadians who have benefitted from the crime of genocide. These ‘indian’  buddies of the government ‘indians’ forgave the psychopaths on their own behalf. We will never forget nor forgive them for what they did and continue to do.
