WASHINGTON -- A new push for President Biden to grant clemency to Leonard Peltier and release him from prison is underway.

North Dakota Rep. Ruth Anna Buffalo asked President Biden on Thursday to release Peltier.

"I asked him to please free Leonard Peltier. He's a political prisoner and from North Dakota, a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa," Rep. Buffalo said.

WASHINGTON -- Today a coalition of more than 50 groups, joined by nearly 10,000 people, called on the Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, Deb Haaland, to live up to the Biden administration’s promise to Honor the Greater Chaco region of northwest New Mexico and halt new oil and gas leasing and fracking in the held-sacred landscape.
