Rapid City, SD – The Great Plains Tribal Chairman’s Association (GPTCA) Chairman and President of Oglala Sioux Tribe, John Steele sent an official letter yesterday to President Barack Obama expressing several urgent tribal concerns about the proposed Keystone XL pipeline’s impact on tribal homelands. The letter urged the President to reject the Keystone XL presidential permit, informed him of a South Dakota Public Utility Commission (SDPUC) process currently happening to recertify the construction permit for that state and requested a meeting with Secretary of Interior Sally Jewell to discuss tribal concerns of the proposed pipeline. The GPTCA is made up of the 16 Sovereign American Indian Tribes in the states of North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
“We request an emergency meeting with Department of Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, who as our Trustee, has a responsibility to hear directly from tribal leaders in a government-to-government meeting.”, states President Steele in his letter to President Obama. “We are prepared to put forth our concerns for inclusion in the forthcoming Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) regarding the impacts the Keystone XL pipeline may have on Tribal homelands as well as our sacred sites, cultural resources, natural resources and water rights protected by treaty and other agreements.”
The Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN), an international environmental justice non-profit, has been working with GPTCA and Oceti Sakowin leaders of South Dakota on the campaign against the Keystone XL pipeline and tar sands infrastructure development. IEN and other Oceti Sakowin leaders have made supportive statements of President Steele’s letter to President Obama.
Ihanktonwan/Yankton Sioux Tribal Chairman Robert Flying Hawk states: “The Yankton are adamant about meeting with Secretary Jewell regarding the intrusion of our territory by Transcanada, as it is no small matter. Our water rights, protection of our cultural resources and safety of our Oceti Sakowin children and families over ride any Congressional lobby influences by Big Oil. We stand strong with all the other leaders of the Oceti Sakowin and Indigenous peoples affected by tar sands.”
Tom Goldtooth, Executive Director of the Indigenous Environmental Network states: “We stand in solidarity with our Oceti Sakowin relatives and encourage the Department of Interior to dissent from a KXL permit approval and give President Obama all the more reason to reject this dirty tar sands pipeline. We ask this for the benefit of the land, the water, our communities, our sacred sites, and the territorial integrity of the sacredness of Mother Earth.”
If supporters and allies wish to support the GPTCA’s meeting request with the Department of Interior’s Secretary Jewell please contact the Department of Interior at feedback@ios.doi.gov or send a message to her on Twitter @SecretaryJewell. Please contact your Senator at www.senate.gov and ask them to Reject the Keystone XL pipeline when it comes up for a vote.

US and UK: Deadly game of entrapment

The United States and United Kingdom have engaged in deadly games of entrapment, resulting in long prison terms, agents fathering children, violence and death

The US and UK undercover agents have been playing a deadly game of luring and entrapping their targets with a mix of intrigue, money and sex -- while the agents provoke and encourage violence with agent-created plots.

The formula that the US uses, as revealed in many court cases is this: The undercover agent flashes around money and/or sex, and urges violence. In more than one case in the UK, the undercover agents fathered a number of children.

This method of entrapment was made clear in the Earth First trial in Prescott, Ariz., in 1991. The FBI undercover agent had to drive the local environmentalists to do their monkey wrenching, because they had no ride. Another undercover agent, a snitch, spied on his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend in their bedroom as a babysitter. Most of the defendants still went to prison, regardless of the entrapment. Every time they made a joke on the phone it was considered a felony.

As a news reporter covering this trial, I asked the federal prosecutor about the ethics of using an old boyfriend to spy on his ex-lover in bed. The prosecutor said, "Well, everyone knows that snitches are sleazes."

This was a long trial, which I covered, along with Mike Lacey, creator of New Times. After it was over, Lacey wrote in New Times about this uptight federal prosecutor, something like: "She grabbed her balls and shot the judge a high five."

These investigations and trials not only cost years of lives, and lives, but millions of US dollars. The benefactors, of course, are the corporations who work as a team with the US government and the courts.

Many of the plots created by the US -- to lure and entrap -- are carried out. Those lured go to prison, and the role of the agents is often never known.

Environmentalists, however, aren't the only ones lured and entrapped in these ops. The agents keep going, and others are blamed for the violence, damage, hacking, etc. The lead criminals are often given plea agreements as informants, or silenced in other ways.

If they survive the ops, many get long prison terms. The US and UK use this method, targeting many youths who might have led different lives without the enticement and manipulation of agents, money and sex.

In other cases, there are infiltrators and those who spy on their friends. This includes persons questioned by police for minor or major offenses, or inmates in prison. They are pressured into becoming informants as part of plea bargains, to avoid prison or to get an early release from prison. Here’s some of the Earth First informants:

The United States Project Gunrunner is an example of one of the US operations that resulted in massive bloodshed, terror and murder. The US Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) ran guns, or as they say “let guns walk,” to Mexican cartels.

The US ATF said this was done to track the automatic weapons. However, those weapons have been used in the long term bloodbath in Mexico, killing the masses and contributing to the destabilization of Mexico.

In the US, few people seemed to care that the US was running guns to the Mexican cartels until a US Border Agent was murdered with one of those weapons near Nogales, Arizona.

A US Dept. of Justice document reveals that Project Gunrunner began on the Texas border in 2005 under the Bush administration. With these guns along the Texas border, the most horrendous crimes resulted. The gunrunning operation continued, under two more names: Operation Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious. This gunrunning is out of Tucson, Arizona, as documented by the media.

Globally, the US Army's operations manual states that guerrillas, 'insurgents,' are provided with weapons and whatever they need to carry out their agenda.

As for international operations, the truth still needs to be revealed to expose the role of US and UK undercover agents in creating plots and organizing individuals, which result in violence.

What remains to be revealed is the real intent of the US and UK in establishing these deadly plots. How many times are these agent-created plots carried out, with the violence spinning out of control, and resulting in violence and death.

Role of FBI informant in eco-terrorism case probed after documents hint at entrapment

UK: The Guardian
… But “Anna”, as she called herself, was no ordinary eco-protester. Really, she wasn’t one at all. She was an FBI informant under instructions to infiltrate fringe green groups and anti-capitalist networks and report back on their activities to the US government.

BLM Farmington Holds Pipeline Public Meeting
But Refuses to Let the Public Speak
Press statement
Farmington, NM—Braving dangerous road conditions and inclement weather, approximately 80 members of the public turned out Tuesday night for Farmington’s sole public meeting on the proposed Piñon Pipeline, only to be told that the public would not be allowed to speak.
In a January 1st Bureau of Land Management news release announcing the meeting, BLM stated,“The BLM considers opportunities for public involvement to be critical to the success of the planning process.” When people, many Navajo and some travelling nearly 200 miles to attend the meeting, tried to voice their concerns, however, they were informed by BLM that they were not allowed. In addition, BLM gave no formal spoken presentation on the project, relying solely on poster board stations with limited information on the project.
“BLM Farmington has been an underperforming, rogue office for many years,” said Mike Eisenfeld, New Mexico Energy Coordinator for the San Juan Citizens Alliance. “But this is a new low. Inviting the public because their involvement is critical and then ignoring what they have to say is outrageous, especially when these folk made such an effort to participate. I guess this is democracy BLM-style going through the motions”
“If it wasn’t clear before,” Tim Ream, Climate and Energy Campaign Director for WildEarth Guardians said, “it should be now. The only people BLM Farmington listens to are the oilmen getting rich off our public lands. This is an embarrassment that should be felt all the way back in Washington.”
The proposed 140-mile pipeline would cut a swath through Navajo communities and the greater Chaco Canyon cultural heritage area. Thus far, BLM has refused to commit to studying pipeline impacts through a comprehensive environmental review and admits it does not have a legal plan for horizontal drilling development in the Mancos Shale, the very drilling that is driving this project. Additional public meetings are scheduled for Lybrook on Wednesday and Santa Fe on Thursday. The public attending will expect to be heard at those meetings.

FRANCE: THE 11th JANUARY FARCE

By Christine Prat

The worst of the corporate media claim that “demonstrations” took place all over France this Sunday, January 11th 2015. To call that “demonstrations” is an oxymoron: people demonstrate when they have no other means to be heard. In this case, there were rallies, ordered and organized by the State and strictly monitored en encircled by their police. Most of the slogans had also been decided by the power, aiming to achieve a fascist-like National Unity.

The names of foreign Heads of States and politicians – who lead the march – speak of themselves: the Turkish Prime Minister (how many journalists and cartoonists in Turkish jails?), Benyamin Nethanyahu (how many journalists and cartoonists among the Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails?), the King of Jordan (Jordanians shake with fear at the very idea of talking about politics), Mahmud Abbas (how many journalists arrested by his Palestinian ‘Authority’?

I know there are, I have known some personally), Ali-Omar Bongo, heir of the old lifetime dictator Omar Bongo, Sergei Labrov, explicitly representing his boss Vladimir Putin (that’s a stunt: not only journalists are arrested in Putin’s country, but some are murdered, although not by islamists)… Not to mention David Cameron, heir of Margaret Thatcher, who did all she could to destroy the independence of the BBC and of the once free British press.

On Wednesday, hardly one hour after the first attack, an official woman journalist suggested that France should pass a ‘Patriot Act’, that legislation almost universally considered as mainly destroying civil liberties. Moreover, when a legislation is passed, so-called to fight a specific group, it is very easy to apply it to others: several American politicians have repeatedly suggested to consider environmentalist actions such as tree-sittings or blocking bulldozers as terrorist actions, one even claimed that environmentalists are the most dangerous terrorists (which is true from the point of view of the Big Corporations, as stopping or delaying their projects cost them much more money that murdering individuals who can be easily replaced, from their point of view). The idea of a French ‘Patriot Act’ has been repeated several times in between: compassion with the victims should not prevent us from remaining awake!

That highly controlled rally is also an abuse to the founders of the magazine Charlie-Hebdo, the target of the attack. I have known Hara-Kiri-Hebdo when I was a teenager, I remember how it was forbidden by a government of that Republic which we must now unconditionally support, and the founding of Charlie-Hebdo to replace it. At the time, almost nobody apart from the fans would support them and I am convinced that if some of the cartoonists had been murdered at the time, most people would have claimed it was their own fault, they were too shocking and provoking.

“We vomit on all those people who, suddenly, claim to be our friends” said on Thursday cartoonist Willem, one of the founders of the mag.

FRANCIA: FARSA DELL'11 GENNAIO
