The news in Indian country remains censored and distorted, as reporters stay home and plagiarize, and fail to show up to cover news stories. Censored are issues that conflict with the agenda of media owners and the US government.

Eagle Pass, Texas: Native Groups Lead Action against Coal Mine

"Native American Groups gathered for a historic rally and march to protest the open-pit coal strip mine in Eagle Pass, Tex. The protesters called on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers  to rescind the mine’s permit, halt expansion and protect the land from further destruction.The project, owned by Dos Republicas Coal Partnership, mines lignite coal, which is transported by train from Maverick County across the border to be burned in a Mexican coal-fired power plant. In breaking news, the new Goldman Environmental Prizes reveal Newmont mining in Colorado beating unconscious an Indigenous grandmother protecting her land in Peru from gold and copper mining.
This is the same Newmont mining protested by Western Shoshone for mining and desecrating their sacred land.
Earlier, Wikileaks exposed the formation of a five country coalition to push mining in Peru, at the same time Indigenous were being beaten and killed defending their land from mining.
The US Ambassador reported directly to US Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, according to leaked cables.
Hillary's Ambassador and the Canadian Ambassador met with Newmont and other mining companies to orchestrate mining as Indigenous were dying.

The Israeli Apartheid corporation Elbit Systems obtained the US border contract and is now constructing US/Israeli spy towers on the sovereign Tohono O'odham land. The Gu-Vo District said, 'No!' as it protects burial places of O'odham which are now targeted by these border spy towers. Elbit Systems also maintains the Apartheid security surrounding Palestine. These Dine' resisters have endured harsh lives and were just subjected to another attack by the US, the BIA and its forces, the seizure of their cattle.

CASCADE LOCKS, Oregon -- On Monday April 11 a meeting took place at the Cascade Locks Town Hall and members of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs of Oregon arrived on short notice in traditional longhouse dress to fiercely defend the waters of our home, the Columbia River.

The Cascade Locks city council voted against a resolution [6-1] that would have prevented Nestle International Waters from having rights to Oxbow Springs, the headwaters of Herman Creek. The Cascade Locks city council officially endorsed Nestle to open a water bottling facility in the Locks.

A Message from Owe Aku's Allies:  Powder River Basin Resource Council and Clean Water Alliance: THE THREAT:  "Strata Energy is at it again. They have submitted a license application asking the NRC to let the company expand their uranium mining and processing site in Crook County near Devil's Tower and Oshoto Reservoir. "Our organization, along with Natural Resources Defense Council, appealed Strata's first NRC license. Submitting expert evidence about water restoration and contamination concerns, we asked the NRC to fully consider the impacts of the proposed project through its environmental review process. While our appeal is still pending with the NRC, Strata is asking the agency to let it expand its project to cover an additional 7,800 acres. THE ACTION YOU CAN TAKE:  "Please submit comments to the NRC by Friday April 22nd  asking the agency to consider impacts to water, land, and other resources in the environmental review evaluation. "Written comments may be submitted by mail to Cindy Bladey, Office of Administration, Mail Stop: OWFN-12-H08, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001; or by email to KendrickSEIS@nrc.gov. Please reference Docket ID NRC-2011-0148 in your letter or email. "In your comments, please ask the NRC to: Consider that the proposed uranium mining and processing area has over 5,000 abandoned drill holes from the early days of uranium exploration. Thanks to our efforts, the NRC has been requiring Strata to locate and plug these old exploration wells prior to mining, but there are still concerns. This license condition MUST be applied to the expansion project because old wells in the area could serve as conduits for water contamination from Strata's project. NRC has identified that water contamination could result from "improperly plugged previous exploration drillholes that have not yet been properly abandoned." NRC needs to do a better job at analyzing the risk that these old drillholes – both inside and immediately adjacent to Strata's project area – represent. Consider that the proposed mining and processing process has an extremely high consumptive use of water, which has the potential to draw down the aquifers that provide drinking water and water for livestock. Consider the track record of spills, excursions, pond leaks, and failed aquifer restoration at previous uranium mines in Wyoming, Nebraska, and Texas. Impacts of past uranium projects have been significant – with routine spills, leaks, and excursions of chemicals into adjacent aquifers. To date, not a single uranium project has fully restored an aquifer to pre-mining water quality. There is no indication that Strata's operations will prevent these impacts. Consider the cumulative impacts to water quality and quantity from the full scope of Strata's whole project, which includes this first permitted site of the Ross Project with an anticipated four additional projects in the approximately twenty mile area of the "Lance District" in Crook County. Strata should not be allowed to expand until Powder River Basin Resource Council's appeal for the Ross Project is settled Minimize light pollution and other industrial impacts to landowners in the Oshoto area and to Devil's Tower National Monument. Minimize impacts to livestock grazing and recreation in the area. Minimize impacts from truck traffic, dust, and noise. "Your comments do not have to be lengthy and technical. The Great White North!

Indian Affairs has to serve us. Corporate Canada calling for no more Indian Act actually means implementing their longtime genocide policy, “Let’s relocate, assimilate or exterminated them!”. The politicians and their corporate partners want our lands under which lie diamond and gold. They want our forests, water and other resources. We are all children of our great mother. They have to remove us  by breaking our natural tie to our great mother. Our ancestors gave us a formula for our family, clans and all that lives to survive.

Like everything on ono’ware’geh, Indian Affairs belongs to us. We own the buildings, everything in them and the land it sits on. We never needed this matrix before they arrived. Their mandate to destroy us is not going to happen. We will live by the great peace.

Hey, hear those  revolution drums?

Our Indian trust fund is for our sustenance, jobs and decent living conditions to take care of our families and our great mother. Our possessions that are extorted from us and our mother are being used as a club to try to beat us to death.

Let’s start a dialogue with this one corporate tentacle. We need our resources to prepare for the coming faces. We refuse to pushed back into anger, drinking, mobs, and continued oppression by the band/tribal council sub-tentacles. Our resources in our hands will help us in our transition to full partnership with our great mother as creation intended.

Our mother has given us the instinct to survive. Let’s decide how we shall make the transition to fulfill our original instructions to maintain ours and the birthright of the next generations.
