Tomas Rojo sat serene, as a person who is in the center of where he should be, at the Yaqui Water Rights Forum in Vicam.

On Thursday, a partially covered grave was found, seven miles southeast of Vicam, believed to be that of Tomas. The red neckerchief appears to be the one he was wearing.

The assassination of Yaqui Water Rights Defender Luis Urbano, and disappearance of Yaqui Water Rights Defender Tomas Rojo, was preceded on May 1 by the assassination of a third Yaqui who was part of the highway blockade for water rights in Sonora.

Agustin Valdez was head of security during the water rights highway blockade.

The Navajo Nation Council's Resource Committee is pursuing more mining -- as Indigenous around the world risk their lives, and arrest, to stop mining.

Already there are the carcasses of power plants, coal mines, oil and gas fields, and strewn radioactive tailings from uranium mining, on the Navajo Nation.

While the tribal government pursues more mining, Dine' search for water as streams dry up and pumps are broken and in disrepair.
