MNN. TRICK OR TREATY. SEP. 12. 2025. This could be a halloween story. We all want to be diverted, scared, fooled and given a few trinkets to help us forget what was done to us. The truth is we were invaded and we have to hang on to what is ours, which is everything. The “trick or treaters” wear masks to cover up their dreadful stories and actions they did to us.  They came here with a mask which was two faces and two tongues. They never removed their mask but we always knew what was under it, their deceitful murderous ways, which we are now exposing. They came from Europe with outsized ambitions and outrageous excessive wants. They believed their big mouthed rulers who told them, “Here’s a permit. Just go there, kill the Indians, bury them and then build your town or home over their bodies so no one will ever find them.

The Birth of the Environmental Justice Movement, Dine' CARE, Dilkon, Navajo Nation, 1990

A tribute to those who came together on the Navajo Nation in 1990 and created the solidarity movement to protect the water, air and land, today's environmental justice movement. They came from the fishing rights struggle in the northwest, and the Seminoles came from Florida. Hopi Thomas Banyacya was there, and Jim Main from Gros Ventre in Montana, they came from Mohawk lands, and the border, and it was a beginning. They came from near and far -- Havasupai, Zuni Pueblo and Pine Ridge, and gave birth to the movement that has spanned the past 35 years. MNN. Sept. 6, 2025. Intruding into our homeland is an “act of war”. Using our power and authority against these land thieves to protect our land and people is a revolutionary act! The Atikamekw are one of the Indigenous people in Canada whose historic territory  is the  great white north. We are family!

Malcolm X, an African American revolutionary during the civil rights movement in the 1960s, said: “When you are fighting for your land, it is a revolution. All wars from day one have been over land. The court will take your land violently”, which is what the capitalist bloodsuckers did on turtle island. In Kanehsatake in 1990 our people stood up and said “No”!  All our land has been taken violently and physically. The only thing they fear are the ‘warriors’ of Ohsweken, Tyendinaga, Akwesasne, Kahnawake, Ganiengeh and all our brother and sisters on turtle island. He said, “We have to eradicate white thinking”.
