Thank you to Unicorn Riot for continued coverage after four live streamers have been arrested and jailed during pipeline coverage.
Unicorn Riot has been live streaming at Standing Rock since Camp of the Sacred Stones was first created. NIEA Urges Justice in Racial Attack on Indigenous Peoples Marchers in Reno

Statement of the National Indian Education Association, after the driver of a truck plows through Indigenous Peoples Marchers in Reno. Reno Police charged the victims and only charged the driver with a misdemeanor. One grandmother is hospitalized with a fractured pelvis.

On behalf of the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) the largest and oldest
organization advocating for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian
students, schools and communities, we write to express our deep concern and
outrage at the recent assault and hate crime that was committed against the Reno
Sparks Indian Colony, Nevada Tribes, and the community who were engaged in a
peaceful rally and march to protest Columbus Day and calling for the city and state to
replace this federal holiday to honor Indigenous People's Day. NIEA has long
supported Indigenous People's Day, having passed a resolution just last year as an
appropriate way to name what is now known as Columbus Day. We are particularly
concerned that our tribal and urban Indian communities continue to experience a
legacy of historical trauma from the generations of federal policies meant to
dispossess and terminate our very existence.

Today up to 10 people including journalist from Democracy Now! Amy Goodman, who turned herself in today attended court; for their actions on the Frontlines to protect the water from being poisoned by the Dakota Access Pipeline.
A crowd of roughly 100 people gathered to support the Water Protectors. In what is quickly becoming the new normal here in the stolen lands of the Standing Rock, Lakota People, a heavy presence of riot police came out in full force with batons in hand ready to bang on the People in the name of their almighty leader Kelcy Warren CEO of Energy Transfer Partners.
When we first arrived early in the morning there was not much a presence of supporters but a lone ally with a sign. As the day commenced People flowed in with signs and flags, with Sage and Drums. We sang, we danced, we demanded justice for those who are facing serious charges and possible jail time for their acts of bravery in the fight for Sacred Water, against a corporate giant who’s only agenda is to extract as much oil for as little cost as possible with no regard whatsoever to the rights and the wants and needs of not only the Standing Rock Tribe but to the 17 million people downstream.
You have to question at these times, why the Morton County Sheriffs are so invested in this to the point of hyperbole, is it because North Dakotas Governor has shares and is himself profiting from this pipeline? The picture painted here is one of dystopian overtones that can be frightening if you are new to Indigenous Resistance or Frontline Land Defender activity.
To continuously be confronted with such violence for doing what is right and what is just for clean air, and water is tantamount to acts of war on Native Peoples. Right here. Right now. In 2016 the state is still brutalizing and committing genocide on our people.
The time is now to support those of the Water Protectors who have been unjustly arrested, the fight isn’t over when they are taken off the machines and arrested or held hostage by the State for being at actions! We must as always be proud of and in support of those who have taken action into their hands, who have bravely made the choice to protect Water at all costs. They have put their freedom on the line for what they believe and know to be true in this day and age not many people can say they put it all on the line in this manner to ensure a future we can all prosper in as humans.
You can’t live on a dead planet. We need more Warriors and Land Defenders and Water Protectors to come here, the numbers are dwindling but our Warrior Spirits are rising! We are awaiting your presence to help stop corporate capitalism from raping our Mother Earth!
Only time will tell what the actual outcome for those facing charges is until the trial’s are over and the verdicts and sentencing are in. We are Proud of all Water Protectors and Warriors, we are inspired and we are as always on a move to kill the Black Snake!

ST. ANTHONY -- More than 500 water protectors hiked to the sites of Dakota Access Pipeline construction and were met with massive police force and armored vehicles on Saturday. At least 16 water protectors were arrested, including one person who was locked down for five hours to equipment.
“We walked two miles to support our warrior who is locked down," said one woman, among hundreds walking in from several directions.
Water protectors reported seeing the National Guard arrive near the site where the water protector was locked down to a track hoe.
Joye said, "Started the morning before the sun rose above the eastern horizon with prayers in a circle of water protectors and land defenders. That is the best feeling in the world. The morning progressed with a helicopter flying overhead, a line of cars stretching behind and in front of us. Each person dedicated to protecting the Sacred.
"Prayers, water and tobacco offered to the police to let us pray. The police moved back some and people walked over the hill to offer their prayers.
Joye, describing the pain from medical shots to her knees, said, "My knees are hurting still from the shots, so I came back to help be rear guard."
"Police have cars on all the roads leading to where we are and have blocked off those who walked to pray."
"We are waiting to see if we can get our prayer warriors back safe and get us out safe. In another action away from here 10 were arrested," Joye said.
"DAPL workers were conveyed out of the construction site by bus."
"Right now I'm looking at four police cruisers, Fargo police, ahead of me about an 1/8 of a mile away. We continue to pray we continue to stand. We stand," Joye said.
Melissa said, "The cops made a barricade. We sang, prayed, and marched right past them on to shut down the work site. Coming from three directions. Hundreds of us; using their tactics against them. We marched 3 miles so far. Pushed them back mile by mile. There are people locked down to the machinery on the site. Headed to them. Send all the love."

Open records request shows that for North Dakota and Morton Co., it is all about the money
The live streamers Unicorn Riot filed a public records request. The records show that for North Dakota and Morton Co., it is all about the money.
The state and police use tactics of over-policing and frightening the public. The state and Morton Co. are the only ones attempting to incite a riot.
Live streamers of Unicorn Riot are among the media who have been arrested and jailed by these police violating human rights and civil rights. Morton Co. doesn't want the public to see the truth revealed in the live streams, so police are arresting the media.
The truth is that Native Americans are facing armored vehicles and loaded assault weapons as they pray.

ST.
