It wasn't the tribal governments, or non-profits, it was the Dine', the Strong Hearts, that fed their neighbors, dug horses and donkeys out of the mud, and paddled in canoes to reach their families. It was the Dine', the Big Hearts, that rushed to the front after catastrophic flooding.
"I witnessed a true outpouring of K’é today," said Aneth, Utah Chapter Dr. Carma Claw, PhD. "Our Navajo families and neighbors showing up for one another. Thank you to every volunteer who worked tirelessly throughout the night and the day,"

In Shiprock, New Mexico, the largest chapter on the Navajo Nation, community members rallied for their neighbors after heavy rains and the San Juan River overflowed. "Donation items still needed that can be dropped off at The Mod in Shiprock, located at the Kirk Center next to the old East 7-2-11," the Mod crew said.

In Aneth, Utah, where roads were split apart, Chapter President Carma Claw, announced the arrival of water on Tuesday. And it went quickly. "Water is here. 1:00 out of water. 12:20 it’s lunch time for the water crew. Estimated 300 gallons left."
In Kayenta, Arizona, the community rallied to provide for their neighbors, near the Utah border. "The Kayenta Chapter Manager would like to extend her deepest gratitude to the dedicated individuals and teams who stepped forward to support our community during our recent food and water distribution effort," she said. "Thanks to your hard work, care, and coordination, we successfully delivered essential, non-perishable food items and fresh water to about 30 residents living in the most remote areas of the Kayenta community. Thank you all for your exemplary service, compassion, and dedication to the Kayenta Chapter. Ahéheeʼ"
