GENEVA -- The United States and Canada are among the top countries violating the human rights of Indigenous Peoples, with mining companies based in the U.S. and Canada linked to assassinations of Native people around the world, Indigenous told the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The United States is responsible for accelerating the crimes against humanity with its endless war, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocent people, which benefits its war manufacturers.

Canada's long history of abuse of Native people includes the mandate for churches to seize Native children from their families and institutionalize them in residential schools, resulting in abuse, torture and murder, and generations of trauma. The Pope confirmed the Catholic Church was responsible for the genocide of Native people in 2022. Currently, Mohawk Mothers in Montreal are monitoring the search for graves at McGill University, the site of a CIA torture site.

MNN. Aug. 7, 2023. On the “Indigenous lead” site where the unmarked burial of indigenous children are being sought at the New Vic site, McGill and SQI Security are refusing to hire a professional Indigenous security firm. The “cultural monitors” and elders working alongside the archaeological work crew were attacked by SQI & McGill security and now the indigenous refuse to return to work until their safety is guaranteed.  Also, SQI wants to interpret the GPR Report that found ‘anomalies of remains in the GEOSCAN Report, a private company. SQI & McGill have terminated the Tripartite Panel that was set up by Quebec Superior Court to oversee the search for the children, to start working on the Roy Vic Project. The court needs to uphold its orders. .SQI & McGill do not have the expertise to interpret the findings, which needs to be done by competent archaeological forensic experts. One of the members of the Panel has quit and another states that the anomaly found by GEOSCAN is a burial site and SQI cannot determine that. This could prejudice all GPR searches that are carried out in Canada by indigenous people.

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION

MNN. August 4th, 2023. Major developments on search for unmarked graves at Royal Victoria Hospital RVH.

Despite publicly stating their support for the court-ordered process and commitment to reconciliation, McGill and SQI have unilaterally terminated the panel’s Que. ordered mandate. They also did not follow through on several recommendations in the Settlement Agreement signed in April 2023 and homologated in the Quebec Superior Court.

Mashk Assi Collective, Censored News, August 1, 2023

[Mashteuiatsh, July 31, 2023] The Mashk Assi Collective, whose mission is to protect Nitassinan, sent a settlement to the company Resolu on July 31, 2023 to remind the opposition of the guardian families of the territory of the Innu Territory to any forest cutting on their territory (see attached). The company was advised by recommended mail that guards of the territory will be patrolling the area of km 40 north of Dolbeau-Mistassini to apply the self-determination of their ancestral sovereignty and to ensure that no unburnt trees are cut down for profit. Paddle to Muckleshoot: Honoring the Beauty

Paddle to Muckleshoot: Honoring the Beauty

By Northwest Treaty Tribes, Censored News, July 31, 2023

"We've been expecting you," said Jason Elkins, Chair of the Muckleshoot Tribal Council.

Elkins was greeting one of the many canoes that approached Alki Beach on Sunday, the celebratory landing day of the Muckleshoot Canoe Journey. Under sunny skies, tribes from the Pacific Northwest and beyond celebrated participating in the culturally important journey once again after several years off because of COVID.

Prior to arriving at Alki, the canoes had departed from Suquamish that morning, where they had a day of rest before the final push.
