Tohono O'odham Nation Posted 'No Trespass" Signs at its Borders. On Friday, the Tohono O'odham Nation posted 'No Trespass' signs at its borders, alerting tribal police to remove border wall contractors if they attempted to come on to their sovereign tribal land.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded a contract to SLSCO Ltd. of Galveston, Texas, on June 26, 2026, to build the 62-mile border wall project. It is known as the "Tucson 5 Wall Project" across the Tohono O'odham Nation. The company is also known as Sullivan Land Services.

The New Republic reports today:

"The Tohono O’odham are facing another battle, in addition. Since construction began in April, workers for Sullivan Land Services, a Texas-based construction firm, have desecrated several religious landmarks sacred to the Tohono O’odham—the aforementioned Las Playas Intaglio among them. Other sacred sites, such as Horse Peak, would be affected by the wall construction, as well."
