Greta Arrives in Greece, Decries the Genocide in Palestine, after Being Abused in Israeli Prison

By Brenda Norrell, Censored News, Oct. 6, 2025

Greta Thunberg gives her first words after she was released from Israeli prison where she was beat and forced to kiss the Israeli flag. Greta said the story is not about them, the story is about Gaza.

"I could talk a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuse in our imprisonment, trust me, but that is not the story."

"I will never comprehend how humans can be so evil. That you would deliberately starve millions of people living trapped under an illegal siege as a continuation of decades and decades of suffering suffocation, oppression and apartheid," Greta said, after 161 flotilla members arrived in Athens today.

U.S. Citizens Released from Israeli Prison Today Describe Brutal Abuse

U.S. citizens released from the brutal Israeli prison and bussed to Jordan for departure.

"I was in a cage with 57 other women, and someone really, really needed a medic -- we were there for hours, and we said, 'medic, medic, medic,' and a guard came and said, 'If you keep asking for a medic we are going to gas you."

Carsie Blanton, released from an Israeli prison, arrived in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

"I'm a Jewish American, and in Israeli detention, I was really treated like scum, in the way you read about in the holocaust."

"We have to try and understand it, to end the occupation and the genocide."
The way they were dehumanized, she said she can not imagine what it is like to be a Palestinian in detention.

Carsie was among 24 U.S. citizens imprisoned for nearly a week in Israel's torture prison, Ktzi'ot, in the Negev desert. They were illegally kidnapped on international waters aboard the Sumud Global Flotilla while bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza.

U.S. citizens describe being beaten and abused in prison, upon arrival in Jordan today.

By Brenda Norrell, Oct. 7, 2025

U.S. citizens on the Global Sumud Flotilla described being beaten and abused in prison, upon arrival in Jordan today. Jordan arranged the bus transport that took them to the airport in Jordan after five days of abuse in Israel's torture prison. U.S. citizens said they were abandoned and left to rot by their government.

Speaking now from the airport in Jordan, Tommy Marcus said the flotilla was violently and illegally raided by Israeli Naval forces, while carrying aid to the starving people of Gaza. Their boats and belongings were all stolen.

"We were zip-tied, brutalized and blindfolded on route to an Israeli internment camp in the Negev desert."

UN experts demand safe passage for Freedom Flotilla’s humanitarian mission to Gaza

Ready to sail for Gaza with aid, but Israel is putting up new barriers.

"South African politician Mandla Mandela, grandson of Nelson, has joined the Freedom Flotilla taking aid to Gaza, announcing that 'I am a living example of what international solidarity can achieve, we defeated the apartheid government.' Mandela said Israel's planned blockade of the aid ship would be a breach of international law, and that the flotilla activists were determined to break Israel's blockade and siege of Gaza." https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20240424-south-african-solidarity-mandelas-grandson-joins-gaza-aid-flotilla/

UN experts demand safe passage for Freedom Flotilla’s humanitarian mission to Gaza

GENEVA (26 April 2024) – UN experts today demanded safe passage for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, whose ships departing Türkiye will be carrying 5,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid and hundreds of international humanitarian observers to the besieged Gaza Strip. “As the Freedom Flotilla approaches Palestinian territorial waters off Gaza, Israel must adhere to international law, including recent orders from the International Court of Justice to ensure unimpeded access for humanitarian aid,” the experts said.

TUCSON -- In the federal trial of humanitarian aid volunteer Scott Warren.
Roundup of day 5 in the trial of #ScottWarren:
1) We began the day with over 100 people of faith joining together for a prayer service outside the courthouse. Faith leaders from around the country and across traditions spoke to the importance of staying true to one’s values in the face of repression, and to caring for the most marginalized in our society. “Water is sacred, water is life,” chanted the crowd. Just before Dr. Warren’s entrance to the courthouse, friends, family and supporters gathered around him and blessed him, that “no weapon formed against him prosper”. Israeli Navy Seizes Freedom Flotilla III to Gaza

According to Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s latest contact with the “Marianne” at 2AM (Gaza time), the boat is aproximately 105 nautical miles and continues on its course towards the Palestinian territorial waters and the port of Gaza. It is expected to reach its destination during the next 24 hours.

As the “Marianne” enters the final segment of its trip, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has decided to reveal its strategy. At this moment the three sailing boats accompanying and supporting the “Marianne” (“Rachel”, “Vittorio” and “Juliano II”) are changing their course and will be heading back to their ports of origin.  Political representatives, journallists, peace activists on board, a total number of 29 sailors, have assisted the Marianne and its people towards their long and difficult journey, which has always remained to end the illegal and inhumane blockade of Gaza.
We demand that our respective governments act with humanity and to ensure the safety of all of the delegates on board the “Marianne”. We call once again on the government of Israel to finally lift the blockade on Gaza and let the peaceful ship, the “Marianne”, reach its destination in order to deliver its cargo of dignity and hope. We urge all international organizations to work towards opening the port of Gaza to let people and products travel freely to the world. Our destination remains the conscience of humanity.
