Mr. Littlechild, Member of the Expert Mechanism on the rights of indigenous peoples at the Clustered Interactive Dialogue: Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous peoples.
Littlechild, Cree from Canada, speaks on free, prior and informed consent, along with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Further, he responds to the need to combat extractive industries. He also speaks about the upcoming World Conference and the need for the involvement of Indigenous Peoples in the planning.
Littlechild points out the need for increasing Indigenous women in consultation and planning.
