Update: Just before noon today, the contractor's drill was set up, surrounded by a swarm of US Border Patrol agents. The Tohono O'odham Nation said the 
Border Patrol has set up a vehicle barrier to prevent tribal police from entering the area on their tribal land and issuing citations. The heavy-handed U.S. security on tribal land at the site includes the U.S. Border Patrol special ops which is the BORTAC SWAT team based in El Paso; BIA officers, and Border Patrol from Tucson. Mexico's police have been deployed to protect border wall contractors from Mexico's south side.

"Three Border Patrol agents involved in the fatal shooting of a Tohono O'odham man in front of his home in 2023 were identified in legal filings on Friday.

"Earlier this year, the family of 58-year-old Raymond Mattia filed a lawsuit, accusing Border Patrol of excessive force and demanding the names of the agents who killed him.

"Attorneys Ryan Stitt and Marcus Bourassa filed an amended complaint, and on Friday issued a summons for Border Patrol Agents Scott Whitehouse, Dan Sifuentes, and Ivan Torralva, who they said "shot and killed Raymond for no reason."

Justice Department Refuses to Prosecute US Border Patrol Agents Who Murdered Raymond Mattia

In a devastating cover-up, and denial of justice, the federal prosecutors in Arizona said they will not prosecute the Tohono O'odham police and US Border Patrol agents who murdered Raymond Mattia, Tohono O'odham, on the front steps of his home. Raymond was shot nine times in a hail of bullets. Earlier, Raymond had videotaped the local US Border Patrol agents running drugs through his community. When he submitted the evidence to authorities, the video evidence disappeared. The Intercept reports today on the refusal by the US Attorney's Office in Arizona to carry out justice. -- Censored News.

There are two new reports: One is the U.S. report on the destruction and violation of laws during the building of the border wall during the Trump era. The new report is by the US government's office that claims to be independent: The Government Accountability Office.

The other new report, making its way to the United Nations Human Rights Council, is the report from the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on the militarization affecting Indigenous Peoples. The final report has some of the powerful testimony and struggles -- but it leaves out some of the greatest tragedies and heartfelt testimony.

Ofelia Rivas, Tohono O'odham, and founder of O'odham Voice against the Wall, has spent her life on the border in the struggle for human rights and battling the militarization of the border.

Ofelia responded to the two new reports and the murder of her childhood friend, Raymond Mattia, and fellow community member, murdered by the U.S. Border Patrol and law enforcement on May 18. Raymond was shot nine times in a rain of bullets on his front door steps, in Ali-Jegk on the Tohono O'odham Nation.

THE GATE, TOHONO O'ODHAM NATION (Arizona) --Indigenous delegates to the border on Tohono O'odham Nation land were outraged by the federal agents, hovering customs helicopter, profiteering contractors, federal spy tower, federal "cage" detention center and watching the arrest of a group of Indigenous Peoples, mostly women and children, by the US Border Patrol on an Indian Nation.
"We saw it all firsthand in America," said Bill Means, Lakota and cofounder of the International Indian Treaty Council on Nov. 8, when an Indigenous delegation went to the US/Mexico border here, south of Sells, to document human rights abuses for a report to the United Nations.
"Now we are going to take this wall down," Means said, after viewing the construction of a border vehicle barrier by contractors and National Guard on Tohono O'odham land.
Speaking a few hours later to the Indigenous Peoples Border Summit of the Americas II in San Xavier, Means called for solidarity of Indigenous Peoples throughout the world to halt the arrests of Indigenous Peoples who are walking north in search of a better life, and solidarity to bring down the US/Mexico border wall.
"One inch of intrusion into our land is not acceptable!" Mohawk Mark Maracle told the Border Summit. "I became very angry when I saw those guys rounding up our people.
"It is a violation of our Great Law to witness what we did today and do nothing about it."

The New York Times reports that the Department of Health and Human Services told members of Congress on Thursday that the agency "had lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children it placed with sponsors in the United States, raising concerns they could end up in the hands of human traffickers or be used as laborers by people posing as relatives."
Native Americans point out that this horrific abuse follows the pattern of the United States stealing Native children.
Linda Black Elk said, "Native people know what it is like to have their children stolen. Thousands of Native children were taken to boarding schools and never heard from again. Many of them now lay in unmarked graves outside the walls of Carlisle, Anadarko, Cantonment, Chilocco, and so many other institutions. Imagine the babies who were stolen off their streets and taken thousands of miles away, where they contracted severe illnesses or were abused to the point of death. "What were they thinking as they were dying? "Were they wondering where their parents were?
"Is that what happened to the 1,500 Indigenous immigrant children that were 'lost' by the United States government? What kinds of horrors did they experience at the hands of sex traffickers, rapists, pedophiles, and abusers? How many of them cried for their mothers? "How many of them are still alive?
"Why is this still happening?" asks Black Elk, who is well remembered at Standing Rock Water Protectors Healing and Medic Tent and continues to share knowledge about healing plants.
Standing Rock Water Protectors point out that even the metal cages imprisoning migrant children, shown above, are the same inhumane, degrading cages Native Americans were imprisoned in at Standing Rock, when they were arrested praying for the water, as Dakota Access Pipeline tore through their ancestral lands.
New York Times reports that Steven Wagner, the acting assistant secretary of the agency’s Administration for Children and Families, disclosed during testimony before a Senate homeland security subcommittee that the agency had learned of the missing children after placing calls to the people who took responsibility for them when they were released from government custody.

"The children were taken into government care after they showed up alone at the Southwest border. Most of the children are from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, and were fleeing drug cartels, gang violence and domestic abuse, government data shows."

The Trump administration is now seizing migrants children at the border.

The Washington Post reports that this is torture.

"In two speeches last week in the border states of Arizona and California, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that as a matter of enforcement, if an unauthorized migrant brings a child across the United States-Mexico border without documentation, “we will prosecute you, and that child will be separated from you as required by law. If you don’t like that, then don’t smuggle children over our border.," writes Jaana Juvonen and Jennifer Silvers.

The horrific testimony exposing the United States reckless handking of migrant children came one day after a Mayan woman hiding in the bushes was shot in the head and executed by the U.S. Border Patrol on the Texas border.

The Guardian reports, "A Guatemalan woman shot dead by a border patrol agent in Texas has been named as Claudia Patricia Gómez Gonzáles by local media outlets which reported that she travelled to the US in the hope of finding work to pay for her education.

"Gómez, a 20-year-old Maya-Mam indigenous woman, died on Wednesday after she was shot in the head by an agent in the border town Rio Bravo,Texas.

The snakes on the border have been profiting from migrant misery for a long time. The buses to transport detainees on the Arizona border were operated by Wackenhut, who also had a security contract for Peabody Coal on Big Mountain. Wackenhut split into two companies for maximum profiteering from misery and abuse. Wackenhut Transportation was acquired by G4S in London, and GEO became one of the notorious private prison contractors in the Southwest. The Israeli defense contractor carrying out Apartheid in Palestine, Elbit Systems, was given the U.S. contract for the spy towers, integrated fixed towers, now targeting traditional communities on the Tohono O'odham Nation. G4S in London still has the transporation contract.

On this same day, when temperatures were over 112, and we had no air conditioning, we drove around the border, and documented the US Border Patrol agents sitting in their air conditioned vehicles, talking on their cell phones most of the time, throwing their Starbucks cups on the ground, spending a lot of time at the Three Points store buying snacks, and driving too fast in the fragile desert tearing up the earth. We also saw some frightening men in regular clothes with out-of-state licenses with hunting rifles patrolling the border on a migrant trail near Arivaca. We photographed the first set of spy towers, which did not work, Border Patrol says, and that was a billion dollar boondoggle, money in the pockets of Boeing. The bus, operated by the snakes, was lurking there at the Three Points store.

Apaches protesting Sen. McCain's

Censored News pick for the most brazen act of 2015: Navajos Chasing Arizona Sen. John McCain off the Navajo Nation. Fabulously called "Sneaky Snake McCain," by San Carlos Apaches fighting McCain's new copper mine with McCain's best buddies at Resolution Copper, McCain's status as a bottom feeder is absolute. 

The fact that McCain is still on the US Senate Committee for Indian Affairs reveals that the Committee was set up to steal Indian land and water rights, and dupe everyone else into believing that the US system works.

Meanwhile, US Homeland Security gave the southern border security contract to Israel's defense contractor Elbit Systems, manufacturer of drones and Apartheid systems surrounding Palestine. 

Now, Elbit is on the southern border of Arizona and pushing its new spy towers on Tohono O'odham land in traditional O'odham communities. 

The District of Gu-Vo has said, "No!" to these spy towers which target traditional O'odham burial grounds.

However, Tohono O'odham human rights activists point out that the tribal government was long ago co-opted by the US government and is powerless to protect the Tohono O'odham people from the onslaught of the oppression of the US government and its new partner Israel.

The Bottom Line: Peabody Coal on Black Mesa

Louise Benally of Big Mountain, testifying before the Bureau of Land Management about coal mining in Farmington, N.M, said it best this year.

Although the regional media has been bought and sold with Peabody Coal's dollars and the surrounding parasitic political influence, Louise Benally describes the 40-year-resistance to coal mining, relocation and McCain, in her testimony to the BLM:

In my community of Black Mesa in 1974 there was a Congressional legislation known as Public Law 93531 that was passed to remove 10,000 Navajos, 300 Hopis to make way for Peabody coal company. 

As of today BLM is the major owner of Navajo Generating Station, and if we're going to talk about climate change justice for all, let's shut Navajo Generating Station down! Because it is allowed to continue to pollute and to kill people. This is ongoing as of today. 

I want that you as the people of the Department of the Interior do your activities and call the Hopi government to stop impounding people's animals. The sheep, the goats, the horses, the cattle is what we live off of. That's our food. That's our economy. That's all we have. 

We don't have electricity. We don't have running water. 

Yet the power that is pumped out of Black Mesa goes down to where John McCain is laid out in the sun with his shades on, and he needs to stop stealing our water. 

The Colorado River, he's after again, after we told him so many times no.

The utility companies, they eat the earth up here, suck out her breath out, so they can get electricity and, you know, we are left with nothing. Period. Nothing. Except ourselves and what we have. But yet these coal companies are polluting our air, killing our environment, killing our people through actions of flawed policies. This needs to stop. We're sick and tired of your greed!

Throughout the continent, the Arctic drilling needs to stop. The pipeline for the oils in the Midwest need to stop that's coming out of Alberta. You're sending all that to other countries. India and China needs to be taught how to convert to renewable energies that don't pollute. That's the only hope we have.

Now, do your job. Make that change.

US Border Patrol: An Occupying Army

On the issues of the occupying Army of the US Border Patrol on Tohono O'odham land, and what this means for sovereignty, Mike Wilson, Tohono O'odham, and Mark Maracle, Mohawk Warrior, said it best.

Mike Wilson, Tohono O'odham, described documenting the abuse by the US Border Patrol and an increase in violence toward O'odham by border agents. Wilson described the US Border Patrol as an occupying army on the Tohono O'odham Nation.

"The Tohono O'odham tribal government has completely surrendered to the US Homeland Security,” Wilson said in the live broadcast of the AIM West Conference in November.

Wilson said people ask him why -- if the Tohono O’odham is sovereign -- is the US Border Patrol on the Tohono O’odham Nation. "In Indian country, we are not sovereign nations, we are not even sovereign people,” Wilson said.

In response, Mohawk Warrior Mark Maracle said that Mohawks do not wait for anyone to tell them that they are sovereign. "You don't have sovereignty unless you assert sovereignty,” Maracle told Censored News.

“The United States and Mexico are not sovereign nations.”

“We tell them we are sovereign. We don’t wait for them to tell us that we are sovereign. We tell them. If you want sovereignty, you have to make sacrifices.”

Maracle said Mohawks have stood up against the state police, federal agents and all forms of government.

"We keep reminding them that this land belongs to us,” Maracle said.

Maracle said it is the same as dealing with bullies and cowards. “They have to remember the power is in the people.”

“The worst enemies are our own people, the ones who are traitors. Traitors for the invaders.”

Media in 2015: Cardboard Con Artists Flop in the Shade

The most censored issue in 2015 includes the media itself. A cardboard stand-up Flim Flam man now flounders where journalism once stood.

Here's how the system works. The national American Indian media and websites deceive their readers into believing that they actually have reporters out covering the news. It is a massive system of fraud, which uses plagiarism, re-writes and stay-at-home reporters who make phone calls to disguise the plagiarism. 

With copy and paste, they plagiarize from the web without permission, and rewrite to avoid being present which would mean carrying out real journalism. They rewrite press releases and steal copyrighted photos and get paid to do it.

Funding to pay for real journalism is not the issue. Indian Country Today is owned by the wealthy Oneida Nation of New York. ICT terminated its real journalists, who actually went out and covered news stories, beginning in 2006, and replaced reporters with stay at home re-writers and plagiarizers. 

Indianz is owned by the wealthy Ho-Chunk Inc. of Nebraska. Ho-Chunk Inc. also received a contract from the US government for domestic and international spying, with an office at the Pentagon. 

What is the real agenda of the national media? You decide.

Why did Navajo Times continue to rely on non-Indian reporters in 2015 for much of its coverage, when the majority of Native American journalists can not find jobs?

The point is control. Are publishers and editors in Indian country afraid that they can not control authentic Native American journalists?

Perhaps publishers and editors are afraid that the real issues might be laid bare -- including the fact that Sen. McCain's goal has been to rob Native people -- while riding in their parades as a faux hero.

Perhaps it is hard to keep real reporters quiet about the three coal-fired power plants on the Navajo Nation and the fact that they are leading dirty coal polluters in the world.

Perhaps real reporters would point out the Raytheon Missile factory on the Navajo commercial farm, NAPI, and question if years of planting with Monsanto seeds on NAPI has resulted in the mutation of traditional local crops.

As for the national news in Indian country, it is clear now that the deep pockets of casino funding have not created a new age of authentic journalism.

Casino funded national news has resulted in a new era of plagiarism, fraud and short cuts.

The Rest of the Story that the Media Concealed

Meanwhile, the media never told you the rest of the story. Former Navajo Chairman Peter MacDonald never took that multi-million dollar bribe from real estate broker Byron "Bud" Brown for the real estate flip sale of Big Boquillas ranch.

McDonald went to jail and prison for a decade. Brown later admitted in federal court that Brown put those millions in Brown's offshore bank account. Brown admitted in federal court that he had lied under oath, and received immunity from the US government to do it. 

Brown's long stream of lies under oath came as the US government wanted to silence MacDonald in regards to Navajo water rights.

MacDonald planned to press for the Winter's Doctrine water rights for Navajos in federal court, ensuring Navajos would have their rights to expansive water rights needed for future generations. 

However, with the intervention of non-Indian attorneys, employed by the tribe, MacDonald went to prison, and the Winter's Doctrine water rights were lost.

The schemes for defrauding American Indian Nations of their water rights has now spread across the west. The schemes of the so-called water rights settlements are carried out by Congressmen and non-Indian attorneys employed by the tribes.

Meanwhile, Apaches continue to fight the copper mine that Sen. McCain sneaked into the defense spending bill, which would desecrate Oak Flat ceremonial grounds by gouging out the earth for a massive copper mine for Resolution Copper.

When San Carlos Apache led a delegation to Washington to fight the bill, and defend sacred Oak Flat, Apache grandmothers went calling on Rep. Paul Gosar in his Congressional office in Washington. 

Gosar called the cops on them.

Meanwhile, Apaches continue their resistance camp at Oak Flat.

The bottom line is the slow and toxic genocide in Indian country, carried out by the US government, corrupt tribal officials, Congressmen, non-Indian attorneys, and the big players in the red light district: The media who can be bought and sold.

SELLS, Arizona -- The O'odham Voice against the Wall will protest the US Border Patrol invasion of their lands, and disruption of their ceremonies on Tuesday, July 16, and Friday, July 26, 2013.

"Our message is that we as traditional O'odham are still here, carrying out the ceremonies and maintaining the balance," said Ofelia Rivas, O'odham founder of O'odham Voice against the Wall.

During this time of O'odham ceremonies, traditional O'odham are demanding a halt to the interference of O'odham ceremonies by US Border Patrol agents.

Rivas said traditional O'odham said there should be no US Border Patrol interference with the ceremonial O'odham deer hunt, including helicopter flyovers by the US Border Patrol and other immigration agents.

O'odham are demanding a halt to the spotlighting by US Border Patrol agents during their ceremonies, Rivas told Censored News.

During May and June, the Tohono O'odham government approved the 15th US spy tower on sovereign Tohono O'odham land, and the expansion of lands for US Border Patrol occupation.

Rivas said supporters are asked to join O'odham for the protest from 10 am until 2 pm on July 16 and July 26, west of Three Points on Highway 86, near the illegal Border Patrol checkpoint near the Tohono O'odham border.

Rivas said water and fresh fruit for protesters would be appreciated.

De ‘O’odham Voice against the Wall’ wil dinsdag 16 juli en vrijdag 26 juli 2013 protesteren  tegen de invasie van hun land en verstoring van hun ceremoniën door de US grenspolitie.

Ofelia Rivas, stichter van 'O’odham Voice against the Wall’ zegt :“Onze boodschap is dat wij als traditionele O’odham nog steeds hier zijn, onze ceremoniën uitoefenen en het evenwicht in stand houden”.

Tijdens de maanden mei en juni keurde de Tohono O’odham overheid de 15de US spionnen toren op soeverein Tohono O’odham land, en de uitbreiding van land voor bezetting door de US grenspatrouilles goed.

Rivers roept op tot solidariteit voor de protestacties die zullen doorgaan op16 en 26 juli ten westen van Three Points op Highway 86, nabij de illegale grens -controlepost nabij de Tohono 0’odham grens.

Tohono O'odham Council approves 15th US spy tower on sovereign land, expansion of US Border Patrol occupation

SELLS, Ariz. -- The Tohono O'odham Nation has approved the lease of more of its sovereign land for US Border Patrol units and a 15th US spy tower on sovereign Tohono O'odham land. O'odham human rights activists say they have been oppressed and stalked by the tribal government because the tribal government has been coopted by the United States government.

The Tohono O'odham Legislative Council approved the use of the US military in the construction of the 15th spy tower on sovereign O'odham land, according to the May 7, 2013 resolution, despite O'odham protests over the militarization of their lands.

The Tohono O'odham Council also approved expansion of the US Border Patrol station in the San Miguel area, and waived its right to a fair market value assessment of the land. The Border Patrol station will be expanded from two to five acres. The expansion includes an operating station for spy towers, helicopter pad, fuel station, lighting and more, according to the tribe's resolution of June 10, 2013.

Three days earlier, on June 7, 2013, the Tohono O'odham Council approved the expansion of the US Border Patrol station at Papago Farms from two to five acres. The same waiver of a fair market assessment of the land was waived. The expansion includes communications for spy towers, fuel stations, helicopter pad and lighting.

The Tohono O'odham Council approved the use of three acres at Pisinemo/Kupk/Dirtburn site for US Border Patrol use, according to a second resolution on June 7. The site, which would include housing, helicopter pad, and more, was approved in secret last year. Many O'odham in the area said they were unaware of it.

O'odham human rights activists say both the Tohono O'odham government and Homeland Security have ignored the abuse and stalking inflicted on them by US Border Patrol agents. The documentation includes unjustified beatings of O'odham and US agents harassing and abusing O'odham women. Further, as seen in the photo, US Border Patrol agents' spy cameras are pointed at traditional O'odham homes, and not the border.

Meanwhile, US Border Patrol agents continue to smuggle drugs and work for the drug cartels in the area. Although numerous US Border Patrol agents have been arrested and convicted of drug smuggling and conspiracy, including serving as spotters for the cartels, the mainstream media has censored those arrest reports. Further, US Border Patrol agents have literally gotten away with murder in the shooting deaths of Mexican teens throwing rocks.

While the abuse of O'odham continues, corporations are profiteering from the migrant hysteria propagated by the media. This hysteria is spun by Arizona politicians and their lobbyists who are funded by these corporations, including border wall builders, spy tower builders and private prison operators.

Mohawks from the northern border are among those who have come to the southern border to support O'odham who are protesting the abuse by the US Border Patrol, and violations of sovereignty being carried out by the tribal government in collusion with the US government.
